I cannot believe so many people are so caught up in this Obama vs. Romney shit. They are both clowns owned by and beholden to the same masters. End of story. I honestly don't see how anyone can be worse than Obama is, just like when Bush was in office, I said I didn't think there could be anyone worse than him (even though presidents are merely figureheads and don't run shit). I am sure if Romney gets in office I will say the same thing, since no matter who gets elected, regardless of which corporate-controlled party they belong to, things only get worse.

To me, Obama is a total fascist whose time in office has corresponded to irreversible damage being done to this country. He (or rather the people pulling his strings) did everything the idiot before him did, but even more overtly. The fact that people are even defending an empty suit like Obama is disturbing to say the least. I can only call these people brainwashed.

Romney creeps you guys out but what Obama is doing doesn't? I guarantee that if Romney gets in, he will continue doing everything Obama is doing, just like Obama has continued doing everything Bush did (illegal wars, warrentless wiretapping, evisceration of civil liberties, destroying the economy etc.)

Sorry guys, but some of you need to wake up and smell the fascism.

This isn't really a political thread, just an observation from outside.

What exactly do you want people to do, Rat? Who is your dream president?

I don't have a dream president. Like I said, presidents are nothing more than figureheads who represent corporate and monied interests while only pretending to represent the people.

My advice to everyone would be DON'T VOTE!!!

Not voting just makes you look stupid and lazy. At least vote for Mickey Mouse or whoever you want to write in so you show them that they CAN'T HAVE your vote.

I'm not sure DON'T VOTE will work with women, since it took them a LONG-LONG time, effort and protesting to even get the vote. Repubs didn''t want them to get the vote because -uh--uh-hmmmmmmmmmm--not sure ,actually. They seem quite all right with me. Of course ,we men should have total control over their reproductive systems. Yeah. Uh-huh. So lets take Rats advice and not vote. Let the Teabags decide the outcome.

LOL - thanks so much for that, scratcho.

Yeah, I never did know I should blame the president because I didn't have a job! DANG!!! Can I blame him because I broke my ankle too? :) Oh, and that is right, I can just say he is a fascist, a puppet and not vote...that'll solve everything....:D not

Obama may not be perfect, but I STILL AND YET see him as far, far superior to the idiot we had before him...and to the evil rich man that is now opposing him.

^ Exactly. You cannot understand fully because you're not here. Obama and Romney both scare the hell out of me, cause they're both a part of the military-industrial complex.

I think all (or at least the vast majority of) major party politicians in a position of power are corrupt to some degree. And that is certainly true in my country too. The Conservatives, who are the current party in power are giving tax cuts to the rich (even though we are in a recession, and they said before that they couldn't afford tax cuts), whilst severely penalising the poor, disabled and vulnerable. They are really here to serve the rich, and big business. The ordinary people on the street don't matter to them. Before them, we had Labour in power, who were corrupt too, but definitely the lesser of two evils.

The situation in America, I think is the same to a large extent. If I was American, I would vote for Obama, simply because he is the lesser of two evils. He isn't perfect, far from it in fact. But Republican ideals are just too far to the right for me to be able to see them as a viable alternative.

As an african american I think president obama is doing a great job and that belief is reflected in some of the latest poll numbers among african americans.

    President Obama: 99%
    Mitt Romney: 0%

The african american community has been hit hard by this economy but we haven’t waived one iota in our belief that he’s the right man for the job, and aside from the 6 years I spent in the air force - I’m proud once again to be an american :patriot:

Not surprising black people vote for Obama because he is black. Too bad his strings are pulled by the white men he answers to.

I agree. It was worse and could take a turn for the worse if we elect the wrong guy! Obama has his heart in the right place, what can we say from ol' Romney? He's a greedy corporate nazi, like the rest of the Republican party.

    I'm voting for Roseanne!

" You cannot understand fully because you're not here"

Bull. That may apply to the Euro folk but not to Canada. We ARE here. Right next door and if you want the sad truth, we know more about your politics than we do about our own. Hell, many of us know more about US politics than those in the US. Why? Because you're the big elephant next door. It's important to us to know what's going on.

But you're looking at the stages. Hollywood and Washington are two of the same; a bunch of overpaid actors/actresses. Obama doesn't speak from the heart, he reads from a teleprompter! In fact, he doesn't even write his own speeches.

Did you know he passed a law that makes it illegal to protest in the presence of secret service? That's right, I'm sure you Canadians are up in arms for America's right to free speech.

Do you know that Obama passed the NDAA which allows the federal government to arrest a citizen FOR LIFE, without trial, and at the discretion of the federal government ALONE?

I shouldn't have to be the one to put 2 and 2 together. But it's obvious to me, (and many other Americans,) that Obama is in the process of establishing martial law in America. Other parts of our government have also been spying on citizens and patriots who believe in the constitution, vote for Ron Paul, and even in some states, any idependant/libertarian bumper stickers make you a SUSPECTED TERRORIST.

    People like you are really not making the situation any easier. If you think Obama is any different than what another 4 years of Bush would've been, then you have a decision to make;

Take the Blue Pill; the story ends, you wake up in the morning, and believe whatever you want to believe.

Or, you can take the Red Pill, and see how deep the rabbit hole actually goes.

Hotwater, I hate to say this, but this is a lot of "hot air." A majority of Germans supported Hitler, does that make him right? Blissful submission is a great tool of the elitist to keep people content while they rob the treasury. Obama is no different; He PROMISED he would have no Bankers or Lobbyist in his White House, and that's in fact, all he has. He signed a Bill to "shut down Gauntanamo Bay," and several years later, it is still operational. Obama has taken the first steps to declaring war with Iran, and bombed Libya (and made a ragime change,) without congressional approval, and Libya was NOT a threat to our national security, as prescribed by the US Constitution.

People like me? I'm pretty sure you don't know where I stand or what stages I watching or where I get my information and you have no idea want I think of Obama
But please, continue to be dismissive and then make assumptions to further your dismissal.

There are things I am aware of but I'd be a fucking idiot to talk about any of that here. Because the conspiracy dudes here are so hyperbolic and up their own ass, it'd just dilute any real message. I've found a great internet place to talk about the elite, bilderburg and other problems where people are capable of real discussion without it turning into some 'I know the truth and you're just stupid sheeple' adolecent ego trip. It's old and we're fucking tired of it hearing the message in that form. These folks aren't trying waken anybody up, it's just about them wanting to feel so much smarter than everyone else.

There are better ways to enlighten than to jump up someone ass everytime a political discussion happens. Time for some fresh tactics. You may change more minds that way.
