I have a bunch of issues going on and I've been running scans on Malware Bytes like every day and nothing is coming up.

One thing that happens is that I will try to click on something and it will highlight something else. Or I'll try to type in something in a search bar and it will just delete that and bring something else up really fast.

Other things it does is scroll really, really fast, but if I try to scroll it won't or will seem stuck...and lately when I try to click on something it will often not click. This is online and offline. Sometimes I'll try to click on something and it will highlight something else or act like it's dragging a whole page...it'll pick up the page and it will be tiny and translucent and then I can't do anything and I try to click it off...sometimes there will also be a circle with the line through it...meaning it's blocked or something.

Also, maybe not related but on craigslist there are these pop-ups that never there before. I think that's it.

Well it's also really slow with all this.

You have a virus. you're going to want to restore your computer back to a date that you didn't have the virus (say 3 months) you may lose some downloads, but then again, they may have been what got you the virus in the first place.

I got a free one called AVAST. Seems to work OK. What Stpl said should help. Maybe Defragment too.

Ccleaner is thebest tool for a computer.
The best (free) antivirus is avira. I studied at itt and am an exhacker I have much experience. These are the two best programs out there...

Try a different mouse, and use Superantispyware malware, and Avast for an antivirus

something got our laptop( i,m on the old dinosaur now lol) it won,t load anything. and when it does try ,a different hp embelm shows up. the old lady looked it up and she said it,s a code that means the motherboard is out. so that means i,m fucked right?

her dad does comp. work at a chemical plant here, he might be able to fix it,(he also rebuilds pc,s) but i have looked at alot of meth making fourms a few months ago. and really don,t want him to find that, since he works at a chemical plant.

can i do anything to fix this, or am i just fucked outta my laptop?

If it is the motherboard it doesn't matter who looks at it, you are fucked out of your laptop.

if the mother board is shot it's time too buy a new computer. You should at least be able to salvage the old hard drive so you can retrieve your stuff off it.

so when you get a virus it will only take Apple a few weeks (correction, it took them two months) to come up with a solution instead of hours like Microsoft and others did.

"He also had criticizing remarks about Apple's response time, saying the Cupertino company's "lackadaisical (and often plain puzzling) response to patching dangerous security holes perpetuates the harmful myth that Mac users don't need to be concerned about malware attacks."

    Macs are not virus proof.

Macs only enjoyed being "virus proof" because nobody was writing malicious code for them, but looks like that has changed.
Now there is absolutely no reason to buy a Mac over a PC other than personal preference.

Malwarebytes is just for minor spyware/malware problems and will not get rid of something really malicious which you probably have. I'd take the advice and use a free trial of software like AVG, Avira or Avast (all of which are great). If the problems still persist after removing stuff with said anti-virus software, it's either a really elusive virus and you need to reformat/restore (clean slate, stuff gone) or it's an internal component. If it's just in need of a format/restore, you'll need your windows disc (or one with the same version of windows) and your license key handy. You could also attempt to clean the inside of the thing out in case it's dirty inside as that will help it run more smoothly. If it's a malfunction with a part such as the CPU or Motherboard, unfortunately that's pretty catastrophic and I wouldn't advise paying to have the issues fixed if one of those are the problem.

EDIT: To stoner oxy80. No, if the system is off, nobody can actively use it for hijacking (which isn't too common anyways, usually it's just to collect advertising data or screw up your computer, I doubt hackers would be interested in some random guy's laptop). The HP symbol doesn't necessarily mean anything, but if it doesn't load past that symbol at start up, then yes, you have major problemos. If that IS the case, then Windows might not be able to be re-installed, and yes a key internal component is not working. Try throwing someone else's hard drive clean of virsuses in there to see if it'll boot up (making sure you don't try to run 64bit Windows on a system with less than 4gb of memory). Also try to see if the "boot" menu has been changed at all, and see the order of the boot sequence. Also check this menu to see what hardware components appear. If you are unsure, just restore the menu to "default". If you cannot access this menu, and you just see the HP symbol still, your laptop is most likely a brick.

Replacing a faulty hardware component is a lot fucking easier then trying to resolve software conflicts or remove a virus, unless it's a laptop, but even then it isn't that hard to swap components. I've done it a few times.

If it's a bad CPU the machine won't even post (no beeps) and all bios have some form of feedback, either beep codes or light codes that can tell what is wrong on the system if it won't boot.
That can often pinpoint the issue if it's hardware related.

    thanks for the info
but it does,nt go past the hp screen if it gets there. probally a brick.
