Gonna drink this stuff tonight called Tempest. It's supposed to have Absinthe/Wormwood. Not sure of the stats/amounts but it should be an interesting experience!
Some places in New Orleans still have the old equipment that they used to distill their own absinthe, a long time ago. It was a fad down there for a while. It was said to cause brain damage, but I don't think that was ever proven. That's why it was outlawed in the US. The new legal stuff is a lot weaker than the old. It's supposed to be safe, but it doesn't seem to have any hallucinogenic effects at all. It tastes good in a Sazerac, if you like novelty drinks.
IDK what the sugar cubes are for. We just drank the shit straight. No hallucinations but it was definitely a "different drunk". Seriously, made us fuck for hours. And nothing else seemed to matter. I will say, I crossed it off my bucket list, and will try to avoid it in the future. Unless I can get some Lucid, which is supposed to be stronger. I just don't like spending that much money on liquor! Especially when the trip wasn't even that impressive!
