Favorite Things About Fall

What are you favorite things about fall?

I love the smell of fall...and being able to go for walks and be outside without sweating.

Another one of my favorite things, too, is keeping warm next to a bonfire.

 

Football and college. I love football and I love college. And of course I love college football.

 

That seems to be what everyone I know is excited about, too...football, football, football!

 

I just love the seasonal changes and the typical things that belong to them. Like with autumn the smells indeed (especially in the forests of course), the harvesting, the use for the woodburning stove or fireplace etc.

 

the smell, the nostalgia, the harvest. splitting wood and sleeping with a quilt on.

 

I was at my family's farm this saturday bringing logs inside the barn so it could dry out a bit further. It was a pretty sunny day actually and damn man the sweat just kept dripping from my eyebrows Felt good though, threw so much wood inside until the pile reached the ceiling Let the chilly weather come (not in a hurry for that yet actually )!

Roadside vegetable carts filled with Pumpkins and Gourds, apple picking, the new england fall foliage extravaganza (which never translates to raking the yard) and Halloween (although this year they actually started to stock the supermarket shelves with candy in early august, ruining the season)



Hotwater

 

We don't have halloween here but I know what you mean hotwater. There's pretty much all kinds of sinterklaas (santa clause) rubbish in the stores as soon as october. That holiday is in early december... Pretty lame.

 

When I was a kid the whole idea of halloween was “dressing up in costume, going trick or' treating, and waking up the next moring to frost on the pumpkins” not purchasing a frosty with temperatures outside in the 90s. August is too early to display halloween stuff.

Blackberry picking. We filled a tub last weekend with big juicy fruit, all for free...stuff that would have just rotted away anyway. We left a few for the birds of course.

 

Here it's the other way around, the birds leave us a few

 

i like wearing jackets and sweaters. gives me a way to carry stuff without needing a bag.

i like the changing colours, the smells, a good hike. walking through the forest smoking a joint is best in the fall.

Being able to dress comfortably without being hot and sweaty.

I love the Halloween and trickster spirit.

I'll go to a grocer and buy only some apples and razor blades just to fuck with their head.
I'll spend almost 10 dollars just to fuck with some random cashiers head how fucked up is that?

I also like the seasonal alcohol and running in the brisk cold air.

 

If you followed through it wouldn't just be the cashiers you were fucking with! How bout putting the razors inside Snickers bars? Mischievous, hell yeah!
