scott peterson got the death penalty! any thoughts on this? i cant beleive its been almost two years since the whole thing happened.
He wont be killed until about 20 years.... he's in California, it takes them forever to execute anyone.
I'm not surprised. I was really disturbed when people were cheering at the annoucement of his sentence. It is utterly disgusting that people cheer and sing when someone dies. It should be an absolutely somber event. It takes SICK people to cheer at something like this. The display today has had a big impact on how i view the death penalty. I dont really have qualms with killing a guilty man, but i think the whole carnival like atmosphere that is created because of the death penalty is sick and disgusting. It lowers our society to utter trash and for that reason, it should be abolished in this country.
Haven't followed it too closely, but from what I read today, there is apparently a good chance he may appeal the verdict due to two jurors being dismissed and replaced during the proceedings. I wouldn't be surprised to see this thing back in the courts once again in the near future.
there were actually 3 dismissed. 2 at the VERY end of the trial when the jury couldnt come up with a consensus, and 1 that was earlier in the trial. It seems fishy as hell that 2 jurors are dismissed and then all of a sudden, they come back with a unanimous guilty verdict.
what if he really is innoncent (dont get me wrong--he's guilty)...but lets pretend he is innocent. i wonder what it's like to know that you're going to be put to death for something that you really didn't do (dont get me wrong--he did do it). btw...the life of david gale is a great movie.
that movie was awesome. couldn't be more right. that and she was pregnant, and killing a pregnant woman is sooo much more morbid than killing any ol' hooker. i even watched a special about the whole murder, investigation and trial, and one of the lines the narrator guy said, went something like "Why would peterson kill someone like lacey; beautiful and faithful" what the fuck...
What I really strongly object to is the way that the jurors made their decision based on any remorse or sorrow Scott Peterson supposedly didn't show. Not all people express their feelings the same way, and the decision should be based on what he did or did not do---NOT what a bunch of his "peers" THINK is going on in his mind. I agree with Megara; it takes a truly sick person to cheer ANY other person's death.
Don't you think some people have the right to cheer about this tho? What about the family of his wife, he killed her and baby, all because he didn't want her anymore, he wanted his mistress, i don't know why he had to kil her, where i'm from we would just break up and move on...but he did what he did and he should have the same done to him. He took away a life........an eye for an eye.
