Anybody know the dangers of fishing?? Like the chances of a shark coming up on the side of a boat like in the perfect storm?? Thinking about taking up fishing as a hobby..Might even go as far as making it a career..

i've done basically all of my fishing from the shores of lakes and rivers, so in my experience the danger of those things is exactly 0.

I am a big surf caster on the ocean.

Deep sea fishing does pose risks...I doubt you'd have anything like sharks and weather advisories are sent out well in advance when the seas are rough. We had an advisory last week because of a hurricane off-shore about 600mi that had an effect on the tides.

I wouldn't worry so much about that stuff than having a boat that is in good enough shape...they really crack down on that shit now.

Red waves? Shouldn't be a problem.

yeah after i posted that i started thinking to myself i really dont wanna be caught out there in the ocean like deadliest catch...maybe one day when i muster up the courage, but right now isnt my time...Too many risks with a guy like me on board, if i was scared.

You could try fresh water fishinv instead. It's much more relaxing. You don't want to be out on the ocean or up against uncomfortable rocks. You want to be out in the forests, having a good time camping and alike with some alcohol.

I have always fished in the lake , but I really don't see many risk like the perfect storm. :)

    I really don't have the patience 4 fishing, unless I am drinking..lol... Which I don't do often unless I am fishing :)

never heard of "perfect storm" but the idea of a shark posing any hazard any place i've fished made me lol.

sharks aren't a problem unless there's a bunch of big ones and someone throws a bucked of blood in the water. i mean even if you're fishing anyplace where there are any. which pretty much means in a boat out in the middle of the ocean somewhere. and as long as you stay in the boat, contrary to media induced myth, sharks do not have a taste for boat hulls. nor are most of them big enough to chomp off more then your big toe.
