Well hello... again. I'm sure I've introduced myself here before, but I haven't been active among the community. I just drop by from time to time to see what new, interesting threads I can find. I hope to change that now and become more active. My name's Emily and I'm a student pursuing a career in political science/Journalism. I hope to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves with influence.
That's a fine aspiration, Emily - but it carries with it a tremendous responsibility to make sure you're saying on their behalf only those things that they truly want to be said. Our society is pretty loaded with people and groups who take it on themselves to speak out for others ... and quite often, the things they are saying AREN'T the things that those others want to be said. Do try to make sure you don't fall into that trap, won't you?
