We students in Ontario are also protesting and plan on holding a strike in the fall! Ontario has the highest tuition fees in all of Canada

Tell me about it. I actually LEFT Canada because I am ashamed at what my country has become!

Not only high tuition fees, but student loan paybacks are RIDICULOUS, especially considering the jobs that are currently available. Minimum wage has gone UP, but average salary has gone DOWN explain that!

Just got my loan papers back from Fed and one of my private loans (in States)

totalling ~$40,000 for 6 semesters of school...minus ~$9,000 I got in scholarship/grant...how's that for tuition rates? 50 grand for a little over half of my required credits needed for a degree (This is not calculating the 6.8/4.5% interest rates - I have not consolidated yet)

^^^ That's a lot of debt to be carrying before you even have a job in your field... Scary shit!

And I was a Fine Arts major...you see why I dropped out? I really wonder if Canada's tuition/loansharks are really as bad as America's

    and yet no student protests...sad

also note that I went to an in-state school for 1.5 years, then went to a cheaper school for another 1.5 because it was outrageously expensive - little did I know, 'cheaper' is only relative. it's still HUGE amounts of money hand over fist.
