I have very sensitive skin. When the weather drastically changes, my skin often reacts to it and gets really dry. my nails have this way of growing into the sides of my fingers sometimes, causing hang nails and peeling skin. It is really gross and I want to have healthier skin, especially my hands and feet. I've tried clipping my nails so they wouldn't grow inwards again, but over time it happens. I've also tried putting on lotion and doing my best to not pick at the dead skin. But it's hard not to when I get out of the shower and I see the ends of my fingers and toes have white areas: the dead skin that can easily be peeled off. I feel like I have to peel them off or else that dead skin will just yellow and get infected or some shit. A few times that did happen when I left the skin there. but when i do peel them off, sometimes it causes bleeding and scabbing and a longer time to heal. either way i'm screwed (or so it seems)

I've had this problem for years, and it sucks when I get a bunch of hangnails and slight pressure on my fingers brings pain. im confused as to what i should do, ive tried different things and i dont know.

So what are some effective remedies for this?

Aveeno works for me. It has dimethicone in it and it basically creates a thin film on your skin (same stuff as underarm deodorant) that prevents moisture from releasing from your skin. It also has Avena Sativa which is good for you as well.

I recommend getting a humidifier and a hygrometer (measures how much moisture in the air). You use the humidifier and keep an eye on your hygrometer and try to keep it 45-60%. Any lower than 45% and moisture from your skin will be pulled out. Anything higher than 65% will grow mold and make things smelly.
