It's the republican strategy to get Americans to "fear" the government and liberals.
Where you get that it's from the heart of the liberal ideology is so far out, it's not even from this planet. Have you been playing with string theory? You need to trash your essay and start over, otherwise you'll flunk your class.

The exact opposite is the case, since liberalism seeks to increase the size and scope of government. At the heart of the liberal ideology is the worship of the state. It might try to portray itself as being anti-establishment, but in reality the exact opposite is true.

You can chalk anything up to fear, but in some cases, like this one, it's just a cop-out.

Instead of showing off your ignorance of liberalism, you should go to a Rainbow gathering where the real liberals are. None of them worship any kind of government. In fact, we refuse to conform to government. For over thirty five years the government (forest service) has been demanding that we apply for a permit to hold the gathering on federal land. But us liberals know that the Bill of Rights says we have the right to ASSEMBLY. Us liberals are not only exercising our rights, but also protecting yours. We have won every challenge in court, when they have tried to stop us. Besides, if we ever did apply for a permit, it would just give the government the power to deny it.

In your promoting of the cons, you are part of the problem. Those are the ones taking away our rights. Shrub and the cons ran the constitution and Bill of Rights through the shredder after 9/11. Anyone that reads this should do all they can to keep the cons out of power, if you want to keep this country from becoming like Nazi Germany.

Might you mean "Fear of unchecked, arbitrary state power is at the heart of Liberal ideology", then you and I can agree.

The Liberal does not really operate on fear, but on optimism. Sometimes too much optimism ; if I am allowed a critique here.

AMERICANS AND BRITISH DO NOT ALWAYS SPEAK THE SAME ENGLISH

Well then, now that we got that out of the way. The boy/girl said they were from Britain. If I recall liberalism in the western European sense can be more closely seen as an analogue to libertarianism in Americans politics. Continue on.
