how does voting for Gary Johnson hurt Obama? Republicans aren't voting for Obama no matter what.. But they will vote for another Republican over Mittens... seems like Johnson will only hurt the republican party.. just like Perot successfully did during the Clinton/Bush era.. He had a 19% popular vote.. in which roughly 90% of his votes came from republicans

I think the point is, or at least the thought is, that some people on both sides of the isle will vote for the "legalize pot" guy.

yeah if anything it's just motivating stoners who would probably not vote.. to get up and vote for someone who's not going to win either way

I just have the feeling the OP posted this in the stoners lounge and not the politics section for a reason.

"But Obama’s backers think he could undercut their vote in states like Colorado, where legalizing pot is on the ballot."

Do you see Dems trying to keep Johnson off the ballots? No.. it's just the Republicans trying to do so.. because he's a threat to the R.. not the D.. if republicans thought he was a threat to Obama.. they wouldn't have their panties all in a bunch..

I got pretty tired of pro-pot folks riding Ron Paul's jock. All they knew about him was that he "would legalize marijuana". I don't care who you vote for, but at least know where they stand. Some people hear the word "legalize" and lose their freaking minds.
