i think this shit is nasty, i prefer coffee or tea in the mornings. i tried it once, pretty gross, didn't even drink it all cuz the taste was just awful. to those of you who use 5 hour energy, does it wake you up more? is it more efficient than other forms of caffeine? i'm just curious, cuz im considering buying one for one of those days where i need to wake myself up and dont have time to sip coffee. thanks, and peace
Make strong coffee and keep it in the refrigerator. No need to sip cold coffee and you get the same hit. I assume you drink the 5 hour energy stuff room temperature?
I've tried about all the different types of "energy drinks"...and the only ones that I didn't want to spit out were cold coffee flavored (lol). Aside from the fact that the coffee ones don't taste so very bad, NONE of them really give any kind of "boost" I could tell. Coffee (as everyone has said) really provides the best wake-up you're going to find. Do like Spectacles suggested, keep some coffee in the fridge, but add some caramel flavoring and voila...good-tasting home-made for real energy drink you can gulp! :2thumbsup:
thanks for the responses. i like coffee hot or iced yeah i tried the 5 hour energy room temp after i bought it from the market a few months ago. im assuming they taste better refrigerated...but fuck that shit ima refrigerate my coffee and drink it later. lol
i dont understand this post. U said keep it in the fridge, but no need to sip cold coffee and you get the same hit. putting it in the fridge does make it cold..but u said no need to sip cold coffee.
I think 5 hr. Energy works pretty well, actually. It does taste like shit, but it's such a small amount. Just knock it back and it's gone in a second or two. What I don't like about it is that it contains sucralose. But as an energy shot, it works rather well. And it's not just the caffeine that gives you the boost, but also the B vitamins it contains. Another one is called Redline, which contains 300mg of caffeine. Lately I have been drinking this stuff called Chameleon Cold Brew, which is like concentrated, slow-brewed coffee that contains 270mg of caffeine per 4 ounces. You're supposed to mix it with water or milk, but I drink it straight up. It works pretty well, but is kind of on the expensive side.
I guess what I meant was that with hot coffee you don't gulp it down. (or at least I don't) OP said they did not have time to sip coffee. With cold coffee you can chug it down. I probably should have worded it better but it was early and I was still on my first cup :coffee: Oh you were the OP.
Yeah those are great, me and John split one when I was at his place a few months back. It has so many different compounds in it though, for some reason they put 5 HTP in there. I've been looking around for it but few places seem to stock it. Trying to find those Cocaine drinks is even harder. OP, you live in Oregon; do you ever get coffee at Stumptown? They sell bottles of pre-made cold brew coffee that will knock your socks off. I have a high caffeine tolerance, but drinking one of those felt like the first time I drank a lot of coffee.
I like the 5 Hour shots because you can just slug em down real fast. I've had them a few times, they get you a nice buzz and I don't crash as hard off of them as I do Red Bull. But the Red Bull is still my favorite!
I'm currently addicted to NOS, blue can. My real love is the Monster Nitrous, my fave being the Anti-Gravity flavor. It's only about 160 mg per 12 oz.
5 hr energy is generally my choice if i need an energy boost. it's more effective than the other energy drinks, takes about 5 seconds to drink, has less of a crash, and i actually think it tastes better than most of them too (as long as you don't get the orange flavor). i really can't think of a downside to it, compared to the alternatives. of course, getting sufficient sleep is always best.
I like 5 Hour Energy drink sometimes during the day when I'm on the run and I need a boost; I love coffee but it makes me have to go pee alot and if I'm really busy doing stuff during the day, the energy shot doesn't fill my bladder like a mug of coffee.
Walgreens carries Redline. The Cocaine energy drinks, which are also among my favorites, are indeed very hard to find. The only place I know that carries it around here is a smoke shop I sometimes go to. You could also order it online, but with the cost of shipping, I doubt it's even worth it.
