I guess I'll start this forum with my experience. At 17 years old I was probated to a youth rehab center for one year. I stayed clean for several years using the 12 step method and absolute abstinence. I relapsed for one year using cannabis, alcohol, MDMA, opiate pharms, heroin, opium, benzos, cocaine - crack, IV, nasal. ketamine - nasal, IV, IM, LSD, mushrooms, dmt, dxm, rc's - many types. My main addiction is to opiates. I then went for a 1 month rehab and immediately relapsed. I then was completely sober for 2 months and relapsed with consistent IV cocaine and opiates congruently. I then went to treatment for 2 months and relocated geographically. I was completely sober for six months then relapsed. I have been using opiates, cocaine and rc's for 2 months. Currently I am on a waiting list for treatment. The center wants to put me on a suboxone program. My family doctor is a methadone doctor and is pushing me to get on his methadone program. He gave me a rx for 10mg valum 2 3xdaily and clonodine 0.025mg 1 3x daily for 3 days (the long weekend) and wants me to come in Tuesday and begin the methadone program. The center and doctor seem to both want me on methadone or suboxone programs. If I wait for suboxone I will have to wait until Tuesday but have meds. If i wait for the center and suboxone I will have to wait 14 days so 11 days without meds (although I could take only 10mg diazepam 3x daily to have it for six days. I need some honest opinions and what not, trying to get my life back on track. Also can a mod move this to the proper section. Thanks, Moke
I would say figure out a way to get on subxone and make it those 11 days. 11 days of easy use to be able to get on suboxone which i know works from first hand experience compared to methadone which my sub doc thought was worse than most other opiates...just sounds like the better option honestly. dont try to squeeze in one last hoo rah! and kill yourself. Just make it to your appt! You can do it man. Suboxone is a life saver and its not that hard to jump off of after a proper taper.
So, don't quite understand if this section is or was supposed to be a whole forum or if this thread is (was supposed to be) the "forum"? In any case, if it's just this thread... doesn't look like it got a lot of use. Hm.
