Hey guys, I look like crazy but I can never find a direct answer to this question: Is it alright to simply use spores over an LC to inoculate the jars(a simple first time batch)? The first time I tried growing cubensis(or any mushroom for that matter) I tried using a LC i made but it didnt work out for whatever reason. I just simply want to cultivate my first batch before I make an LC for later bulk grows. so... can I just inject about 1/4cc four times into the sides(not center) of my sterilized 1/2 pint cake jar of vermiculite/brown rice flour/water mixture? Thanks for your input/help
Thanks for not chewing me out on an annoying question. As for the LC, I managed to make a cloudy substance appear in my jars but I tried inoculating the substrate with that and it never worked(it's been 4 years since I last tried to cultivate). Off topic-Orison I actually have read many of your posts so far, thanks for the wisdom... you've had those squirrel avatars since I can remember seeing you on here. haha. Peace and love.:sunny:
OK the first and only time a tried an LC was about 3 years ago so my memory is a bit cloudy. I used rather large jars, a pint I think. I punched 2 holes in the top of the jar for injection point and sealed the them with some solution to make it self-healing injection point. I used a Karo and water solution, pressure cooked it for some time, then let it cool. I injected the spores and I actually did get a cloudy white substance in my jar! however when I took the LC and inoculated my substrate, nothing grew. Thinking back, I think it was because I didn't shake my LC jar before I drew the liquid, and also I think it was too cold. But this time------- I'M GOING TO GET IT RIGHT!!!!!! :banghead:
What's LC stand for ? EDIT: It means liquid culture doesnt it.... EDIT #2: I've had success injecting spores into my jars 100% of the time.
