I try to stay out of discussions about US Politics because it's not something I know too much about.But when Republican candidate Mick Romney describes Russia as "Enemy number 1 " I really just think this is totally crazy.Russia is a long way from perfect but this is pure strikes me as pure electioneering,designed to inflame old "cold war" prejudices in order to stir up the rear-guard conservatives...What the fuck!...This man is a complete dickhead!...

Actually, Romney did call Russia an enemy during his RNC speech. (RNC means Republican National Convention. DNC, of course is Democratic.) I'm still agog over the Clint Talks to an Empty Chair segment...and I only got in on radio. I need to watch a video just to make sure I heard what I thought I heard. How do we get politicians like Romney? It's an outgrowth of a mindset that allows social climbing and ambitions to go beyond your parents, which is a good thing, even if it gets us really odd characters in our government. I am really hoping to keep Obama in. I don't agree with some of his actions, but overall, he is making changes that are making improvements...oh so slowly, but that is economics. That and disruption always shakes financial markets like jelly. Not sure we need to add to worldwide tremors.

I opened this thread because of what Romney said about Russia - that they are the America's number One enemy...While watching the news this morning I saw a piece about how twenty young US ice hockey players are in Russia on an exchange trip...It seems that the people of the World are much more in tune with integration with other cultures than the politicians.
