Do you give to charity? And what do you do with your stuff after a house clear out? Just going through all mine & the little ones stuff, can't be bothered to sell it, that just seems like major effort lol so I'm just giving it to people I know and the leftovers will go to a charity/second hand shop probably..
The children's clothing has to go to the socialwork department. They are desparate for good quality clothing and will know exactly who needs it!
I give £7 a month to Red Cross. That's about $11 or something.Less than two cans of beer a week. They help needy people in the UK and overseas. Not much I know but if all those who can afford it just give a little each month it all adds up.
How do I find them? I have about 4 black bags of baby clothes/blankets etc. One bags going to a family friend but the other bags need homes
I do give to charity mostly local organisations that way it goes to good use in my backyard. After I seen how the RedCross made profit on 911 victims and Katrina victims I'm hard pressed to give to them. Helping and donating to a local food bank is my current focus. Getting harder and harder for people to afford basic goods. Mamap idk how to get in touch with your local social workers office maybe a quick online query or your phone guide. Bellow are a couple of good sites for donating clothing and more. www.desiresociety.org I'm not catholic but they do have a good outreach program here in the states and over there in The U.K. as well. Here is their e.mail address info@catholic-care.org.uk or web www.catholic-care.org.uk hope that helps. Take Care! Regards, -abs-
You're local council office will give you the info or look up socialwork department in your postcode area.
i give money to cancer reseach and the alzheimers society as they are both diseases family members have/has suffered from. is it wrong that when i see a charity worker with a cllipboard in the street asking for donation, i run the other way or cross the road?
I give to the Terry Fox run at my kids' school, the toys for tots charity at Christmas, the warm clothing drive in winter, and the food bank when I get groceries (there is a bin at the exit) and other times when it is collected. Our outgrown kids clothes and toys either go to friends with younger kids or to Value Village.
house hold good, the good stuff, goes to Habitat for Humanity. Some stuff goes to GoodWill and clothes go to the free store up the street in the basement of a local church. As far a money I give to local charities and projects for kids. My wife gives a lot to environmental causes and people rights stuff like ACLU and planned parenthood.
Now that i think about it yes, I've donated clothing to goodwill industries and donated used book. Hotwater
Clothing and household items go out to Goodwill because it's convenient. There is a local food pantry that makes it convenient to drop off food items, so I try to drop some non-perishable stuff by there a few times a year.
there's a campaign around here every winter where you can donate clothes to the homeless i always donate some shit, it dont hurt you know i also always give out a spare coin if i have or try to buy some bread for those homeless people standing near the market you know, because i remember one time when i was a kid and i saw a lady doing that and it just made me feel so ... you know ...
I help out people I know firsthand. I don't really like considering it charity, though, just doing what I think is right. And I always donate a little bit to the Children's Miracle Network because they are the reason I have my little brother today.
