Hey guys! :-D ..well i just joined this forum but i've read tonnsss of threads from this site. Ok. So here's my situation. A friend is going to hook me up with some acid in a week or 2. I was supposed to have gotten it like 2 times before but he couldn't get it. Instead of being upset or blown, I just took it as: "its not my time yet." I figure that when I'm ready, I will finally get my hands on it. BUT:::: when some of my friends and I are high:sifone:, they start saying how its a bad idea and stuff like that..like, they really really think its a bad idea..and then I start getting nervous because of what they're saying. They talk about how they have to hide dangerous materials (ie. knives, scissors) - stuff like that - and how some of them don't want to be here because I might flip out and try to "kill them" or some thing.:beatdeadhorse5: I mean, relax, you know?! And by them saying stuff like that, it kinda freaks me out. BUTTTT::: I only get like that when I'm actually high! When I'm not high, i feel like everythings going to be fine! ..I've done plenty of research (!and I mean plenty!) about LSD. But, ofcourse I don't know how the actual experience is going to be. So I guess my question or predicament would be: should I listen to my "high thoughts" and give it more time? I really feel like I'm ready though. The only time I question it is when I'm high. I would really appreciate it if i got some feedback from you guys. ;)

Ohhh!!! And I just remembered: I think they're going to be high on the night that I drop it. Is that a good idea?!..haha

Anyone who tells you to "hide the scissors when you're on acid" doesn't know shit about acid. Obviously take care not to drive, or play with sharp things, but it's not like being in a state of hyper awareness is suddenly going to make you want to murder people. Your hands will be infinitely more interesting to you than any knife in your kitchen.

Yeah, they don't know much about acid. I guess they just think a certain way based on what they've seen on tv or heard about people tripping real bad on it. But you're right, I'll be enjoying my trip too much for me to kill someone. ;D

i would be very inclined to agree with this...if it weren't for ONE weird incident with my wife.

on one potent hit of LSD, she thought her veins were filled with "purple sludge." she went to the kitchen to get a knife to cut herself open to check. it was only after speaking to her loudly and repeatedly that she sorta snapped out of it, and wondered what she was doing.

to be fair, she's not mentally cut out for tripping.
i think this behavior is very rare on LSD, and there might be a small chance that she was over-playing it for attention.

it was a bit scary and it really happened. but i really don't think it's a likely scenario. i've never had to hide knives or scissors on myself.

Haha..yeah i'm getting acid. I guess they just say that cuz they don't really know what it makes you do and how it makes you feel. I just laugh it off when i'm sober.

do you plan on smoking weed after you take the acid? that might get you paranoid again.

That actually crossed my mind, man. I mean, I'm not one to get paranoid when I'm high, but I've never taken acid. So, I think I'll steer clear from tree that night.

Don't be too nervous. The worst thing you can do is go into the trip with fear. LSD is a very safe chemical that has been used for many decades now by many people. IMO most bad trips come from dosing an unknowing person. Someone like you who has done the research and is prepared should be fine.

Have you taken any other psychedelics? It's hard to explain a trip, it's best to just find out for yourself. Don't discount weed all together, it can really kick your experience into another gear.

Yeah, you're right. I shouldn't let nervousness overcome me. And naw, I've only smoked tree. I know that I don't know what to expect though. >.<

Maybe a little more reading and education is in order.

Not trying to slam your friends but they sound like the typical results of prohibition and propaganda... full of mistruths and myths.

Take responsibility for yourself and seek out information, no one else will do it for you.

My primary sitter - the one who's rather experienced with LSD (dropped frequently for about 10 years!) had ONE very bad trip.

He was the only one tripping & around his sober family. He thought a friend of his mother's was attacking her (even though they were only having a friendly conversation) - ended up grabbing two massive blades and went to cut his head off!

Only avoided killing the guy thanks to the intervention of his family. His sister has a massive scar on her arm because of it.

Out of the large number of experiences he's had... this was the only one that could have ended quite so nastily.

Not sure what happened - it could have been so many things & he didn't have a happy family life at that age - so that could well have contributed. He was also a very angry person in his youth - really not the right mindset to have been tripping in the first place.

I agree that I think these types of outbursts are very rare - even in the wrong setting/mindset - but you always need to know, it's possible... that's one of the reasons why I'm so cautious.

Don't let it scare you - but I find it comforting to prepare a bit - although I've never really felt the need to hide the knives. I nearly broke the ipad one time when I got frustrated because it wasn't doing what I wanted it to, still easily stopped myself.

The anxiety from worrying about this too much can negatively affect your trip a bit - but once the good feelings start rolling in - I find that quickly fades. It's taken a few trips - but I'm finally at the stage where I feel really comfortable dropping. It took a few trips to get rid of that anxiety for me, although I may well still get some when pushing doses :)

Weed seems to add to trips in different ways for different people.

I haven't tried it on the come-up myself yet and don't have the desire to.

My OH dropped after smoking quite a bit on my first trip - she didn't much like how it affected the come-up, so won't be doing it again.

I think it wouldn't be great at the peak either.

But... toking on the come-down can be rather nice, especially if you've had a bit of an intense trip and want to relax a bit or I find myself going overly analytical after the peak & it helps me dull that a bit along with making the visuals more vivid again.

I think Mary can compliment Lucy quite well - but timing is crucial :afro:
