Woo, more Charlotte people! I'm right by the city limit over down in Matthews. How long have you been living here?

    Nice meeting you.

I've been here for... eep, almost ten years. Moved from NJ when I was four so it's the only placed I've lived that I really know well and will remember. (Yes, I'm a youngling.)

It's really not the most eventful place in the world, but there's still plenty of stuff to do. Generally I just catch movies or wander around the various malls/shopping centers. Avoid South Park, though, very posh and uptight. Sometimes we'll get good bands stopping by on tour (but that depends on your tastes) and our theatre scene is not bad at all. Blumenthal and Ovens get a bunch of Broadway shows every year. Different casts, obviously, but it's still good stuff. There's also the local sports teams but I'm not into them. The cultural festivals are sometimes cool to check out for a day (annually, we get a Hispanic festival, a Greek festival, and the Festival of India).

Pick up a copy of Creative Loafing if you see it. It's always got the local happenings.

Oh, and do check out Infinity's End if you're into the somewhat-more-stereotypical hippie stuff.
