this was so awkward to draw. not an original drawing, i saw it somewhere and thought I'd give it a go, this was attempt number 3 because the proportions were so damn awkward, ive definitely used the wrong pencil too, the lines are too hard and dark i think
yes, you are possibly right about the pencil used, although you could still work it, but you def have a great eye for composition and proportion MamaPeace... i haven't really drawn and got lost in that kind of activity for such a loooong ol' time... seeing this, i feel inspired to do some of my own... that doesn't happen often... thank you for posting x
Pencil was too smudgy and blunt, I havent got a sharpener so I just use a knife like my great uncle taught me, doesn't work as good though
you talking to me or MamaPeace Rollin'? and MamaPeace, what pencil and paper you using? knives are good for very soft pencils... sharpeners often crumble the end unless one is particularly careful... you use a putty rubber of some kind or just an eraser? it looks like a tattoo design... you still working on it or have you stopped? the paper looks like it is a good quality cartridge paper from what i can see anyway...
Hi Like what you are trying to depict. I think the skulll is quite clear, but the dragon is not so clear. Additionally, you can strengthen it by using fewer but stronger lines. Overall, good job!
Your drawing is very nice MammaPeace. You didn't necessarily use the "wrong" pencil though. I see it was a very soft pencil. It's possible to execute a great drawing using just a single soft pencil. I remember an assignment in one of my life drawwing classes the required us to do just that. We were to execute a drawing of a Michaelangelo piece using just a 4B. It was a great assignment because it taught us how to control line weight and value by controling the pressure of the pencil against the paper.
