This site has all kinds of people. I could not say there is a majority of any particular type. I found my niche where I feel comfortable posting and basically don't go near some forums or threads. I think that is what is so good about this place. There is something for everyone.
Well if running away and living in Haight Ashbury is all it takes then the gutterpunks who wear Greatful Dead T-shirts and sell over priced bunk weed to tourists while intimidating others with their pitbulls and not giving anything back to the scene and community must be hippies too. Sorry, I just get a little pissed about the Haight and what it's turned into. It's basically a shopping mall with dope dealers now. Maybe it's the whole comparing The Haight with Telegraph in Berkeley Their History's and what the residual effects were. Stay Brown, Rev J
yeah, i was in haight like 10 years ago. it is evil and dangerous now. i wouldnt go back but to dudeman on the other page, hey i am in personality really punk'd out as well dude. i am,, a freak of nature lol
Am I a hippie? Dunno. Define Hippy. I'm a biker,a trucker,a musician and a loner. I add up to not a lot. I own my home, have zero dependents, very few friends-those I do have I served with-and live in a remote area beside a beach with very few neighbours by choice. I play my guitars as/when I want to and spend a lot of time reading. I don't own any G Dead tie-dyes or vinyls but have a lot of 70's Metal/Prog rock stuff. So I suppose not. However,I haven't killed anyone for years and I'm kind to kittens and stray dogs.
I guess that back in the 60s, I heard "Are you a hippie" (in a sneering tone) too many times from people who didn't want to know, to answer that question now.
I've been called a hippie many times, but having graduated in '75 I would technically be a stoner... Whatever, man... It's cool.
I'm technically a stoner too but do not really dig it to proclaim myself to be one. It's a bit stigmatizing and especially I feel it just doesn't cover my identity (same with hippie). I think that is nonsense. A hippie can use the internet just as righteous as anyone. You think it clashes with hippie principles somewhere?
