    off one hit, damn.

I bet the guy who hooked him up feels bad. I mean that sort of thing happens all the time at a festival. Someone wants to get you back, so you are offered a hit of something.

Another result of a failed drug war....Those untested, dangerous ''grey area drugs'' are a direct result of the ban on the older, safer psychedelics.

That guy looked so happy and nice, it is a real shame he had to go like that. Condolances to his friends and family. Rest In Peace brother.

I don't understand how one drop killed him though. Really really potent stuff? Was one drop 50 hits? or did the Vodka and Redbull + normal festival dehydration play a part in this?

^What Shivaya says is right, if we could just buy pure lsd or mushrooms from a vendor then it would be much safer then trying some crazy concoctions nobody knows anything about yet. Everyone could have nice clean trips with no anxiety about what there doing being illegal. Probably stop a lot of bad trips.

It's very, *very* important to note that this was the climax to "a night of drinking vodka-red bulls"

he could have done a bump of cocaine and died.

his body was loaded up not only with alcohol, but even worse, with shit tons of stimulants

It's crazy how the media is saying the drug called "smiles" is just like bath salts and is killing everyone who takes is. They have the media tell everyone it's horrible and they automatically believe it. Then society will never really know and testing will never become of some of these chemicals that could potentially have benifits.

Personally I think that we already have all the benefits we need with old, tested, safe psychedelics.

LSD, Mushrooms, Ayahuasca, Mescaline, MDMA, Iboga.....

do we REALLY need a bunch of obscure RC's?

I'm just saying an RC might still have potential health benefits and we will never know if they become illegal before any kind of testing can be done.

Yeah, and what about all these newfangled antibiotics out there? What's wrong with good old safe, tested penicillin? ;)

obscurity is a function of time and popularity. There was a time when even mescaline was highly obscure, not to mention LSD being the definition of a 'research chemical'.

Yes, there is already a plethora of wonderful healing medicines out there, but who knows if there is something out there of value, or even of more value than the classics? This is the nature of science, to keep discovering.

It did not take but a week after his death for Louisiana to ban 25i-nbome.

I completely agree. I think it also has a lot to do with a shift in focus of the RC market from psychedelics to stimulants. (not that the nbomes are stims)

Yes, that needed to be said.

"Energy drinks" can be dangerous, especially when mixed with alcohol and other drugs (except mj, which doesn't increase the risk). 5 Hour Energy drinks brand (or is it a type?) is associated with 13 deaths over the past 4 years. And Red Bull + vodka has killed at least one person (I knew his mother).

    http://abcnews.go.com/Health/hour-energy-drinks-cited-13-deaths/story?id=17725137#.UKb-14c70b0

But lets talk about alcohol deaths - hard to find conclusive numbers, but probably around 75,000/year in the US, which ain't shit compared to the old coffin nails. Let's hear it from the CDC: "Each year, an estimated 443,000 people die prematurely from smoking or exposure to secondhand smoke, and another 8.6 million live with a serious illness caused by smoking." Goddam, now we're talking about some serious DRUGS! :groupwave:

The drop in the nose or on the tongue thing is a bad idea, especially in a fast environment like a festival - "oops, that was 3 or 4 drops" or better yet, "Oh man, I'm so fucked up, I gave some dude the whole fucking dropper full."

 Was the first statement irony? If not, the answer is found in your second statement. Penicillin is ineffective for many infections, e.g., most if not all pneumonias, all the STDs, most infectious diarrheas, etc. And it's not safe for people with pcn allergy. We're grateful for advances in all fields of medicine.

I didn't smoke or drink for awhile, then drank a couple of large cups of redbull and vodka. I was fine with the alcohol. Then I smoked some weed and all of sudden I was shaking and convulsing and I got super dizzy feeling and threw up in the toilet.
