What I'm saying is if you were a republican, democrat, or whatever, would you speak out against your party and try to get rid of those who are hurting the party which you favor? Or would you defend your party no mater what it does? I feel that too many elected officials will only do what the majority of their party wants done. It seems too many of them will just accept what their party stands for and will go through with it, rather than speak out with criticism. There are thousands of examples of these sorts of things happening in politics. But a couple I will provide are: Republicans continuing their endorsements with the neo-con GW Bush agenda despite the fact it was killing support for their party and their president's approval rating dropping below 20%. Or the Democrats criticizing the Bush administration for policing the world with ground forces, raising the debt to $9 trillion, and destroying civil liberties. But sits quietly while Obama continues similar policies by spending more on homeland security, raising the debt to $16 trillion, and signs the NDAA bill into law. Would you defend your party's name until the last drop of blood? I personally wouldn't. I haven't been party affiliated since I was able to vote. So why do people continue to do this? Is it tribalism and gang mentality? Or they still barking up the "lesser of 2 evils" tree? What could it be? For those of you who defend your party's evil actions, please tell me why.
I Don't Have A Political Party, I Vote For Who I Think Is Best Qualified To Run This State Or Country.... And To Answer Your Question, Yes I Would..... Cheers Glen.
I was at a fund raiser for one of our senators and asked her why she doesn't come around when she's not trying to keep her job or raise money
I am an independent voter. I believe in equal opportunity in terms of criticizing politicians and their party's.
I probably wouldn't speak out in a public forum against my own party. It's the other party's job to do that, and they do it very well. But I would not publicly defend a wrong position or action. Unless it was something quite extreme, I would most likely say nothing at all. In a two party system, you can't hurt one party without helping the other one, and any flaws I see in the Democratic Party doesn't make me like the Republicans any better or wish them success. The time to make an effort to influence the direction of a party is during the primary election process. Some internal debate is healthy during those campaigns, but it's important to be careful about not giving too much ammunition to the other party. Every comment can be used against you later.
