Of course not, but stealing from one person to give it to that "dying" person, is not fair. The Majority rule shouldn't have more rights than an individual. I can't walk into your house and steal you money, so the government shouldn't be able to either!!

You're talking something entirely different. You can help people and the world out, but not through government. The federal government is too intrusive on our freedom, and there's no reason we should be giving them more money for ragime changes, war and, bailouts.

I just don't trust social security. They just bought stockpiles of weapons and ammunition and I think if EVERY federal government employee is going to be holding a gun, like some fascist society, I don't want to contribute to the federal government at all!!! I don't think they deserve our money or trust.


But I don't want to, take it away from people or anything. Just the ability to opt out. Cause in reality, you make more money for not paying social security, and you also don't have to wait as long to collect it.

 

Most servers I know make $2.13 an hour. Which is the federal minimum wage for those who are tipped more than $30 a month.

I'd say 6 bucks is quite a bit better than $2.13.

Whether or not this is right and fair is debatable, but crucifying someone for paying $3.13 MORE than he has to is not productive. Your blame finger should be pointed elsewhere, like at the law that Mr. Papa is not only abiding by, but paying more than double the amount he has to.

 

I just can't help but think that if there was no Fed, if it was just State gov, all Libertarians would then want to abolish State gov as well.

It seems as if Libertarians want to be Anarchists, but are too timid. What makes you think State governments would not become corrupted to the point the Fed gov is? Just cut out the middle man StpLSD25, and preach anarchy. Libertarianism is just is just so watered down. Just say you want to abolish all forms of government.


I started this thread because I believe Americans should have single payer Medicare for all. If you want to start a "I hate the fed" thread send me a link and we can debate Libertarian viewpoints there.

I see society as a collective too. I just allow room for the individual. Everybody is telling me I'm hateful and angry. That's not the reality of it, I want the federal government out of our lives. States can only be so corrupt.. they can't wage war for profits! And people need to give more heed to political actions.

Everyone is so excited about ObamaCare, but what if it's a big lie?? See, I'm not angry at all, I'm just logical enough to read a contract before I sign it.

Here in my town down south before 2008 /before Obama, it would be quite possible to go to the hospital emergency room and be turned down, or told to go to another "branch" of the hospital - way to what they call another "campus". No, it isn't that very far away, but when you are sick enough to go to the emergency room, every bit of moving counts! AND...when you got to this other place, they were subject to maybe listen to you breathe & put a stethoscope to your heart for about 2 seconds. When they determined you weren't dying, you were SENT ON YOUR WAY, often with no meds whatsoever and with a script for just a few - "until you go to your doctor". WTF...What if you had no "regular doctor"?

I know of a few people that wound up having to take kids to another town - about 35 miles away, where they did take people that weren't wealthy or insured. I'm quite certain there HAVE to be LOTS of people I don't know of that were in that exact situation.

In GW's term, down south here there was a big to-do about a woman that literally wound up DYING laying in the floor in an emergency room, waiting to be seen. A video shown on TV showed different hospital personnel walking around her.

Since 2008, something has made it harder for the hospital to turn people down...and I know for a fact that there are now programs in effect to help someone pay medical bills at our local hospital that weren't in effect in 2009. So, I like the way things seem to be going with Obama leading. I can't speak for everyone. I can only speak for myself, and for some of the people I know that get social security and that get disability. I shudder to think what would have happened if things had gone the other way.

In Arizona I know quite a few people that go down to Mexico for their prescriptions and dental work, because even with insurance it is too expensive, or they have none.

 

Kind of like it is right now. And the way it is now is fine with me. But I would rather the way I said than obamas way. And if they can spend trillions on a war with no real purpose then they can easily subsidise healthcare instead.

 

This is the exact reason stp and myself want less fed and more local government. I dont even have a passport but if I liked pennslyvanias health care system it would be no big deal to move there.
