UU sounds like a wonderful thing to me, so I did some research to see whether there were congregations in Germany, especially my hometown as well, and had to notice that the German Unitarian organization ("Deutsche Unitarier Religionsgemeinschaft" or "Bund Deutscher Unitarier") is said to be very close to Neo-Nazis? How do Unitarian Universalism and racism go together?!
Does anybody know more about it? :(

UU's worship the sacred "?". Their believe one should question. In fact, they even question their questioning. Their quest is to question.

I've been uu all my life. two churches same town (we traded w/ another church)
    I think

"UU's worship the sacred "?". Their believe one should question. In fact, they even question their questioning. Their quest is to question."

    is absolutely correct cheif

heres a card on our beleifs I got at church whan I was wondering:

We believe in the freedom of religious expression. All individuals should be encouraged to develop their own religious opinions w/o fear of censure or reprisal

We beilieve in the toleration of religious ideas. all religions in every age and culture posses not only intrensic merit but also potential value for those who have learned the art of listining

We beilieve in the authority of reason and consionce the ultimate arbiter in religion is not a church nor a document nor an official but the personal choice of the individual

We beilieve in the never inding search for truth if the mind and heart are truly free and open the revelations that appear to the human spirit are infinitly numeours externally fruitful and wonderouls ly exieting

There are three more paragraphs but I think thats enough for now, we are nothing like neo-nazis in our congregation but if a congregation in germany decided thats what they believed in thats their choice, its kinda bad to ask one unitarian what the entire religion believes or teaches because beliefs change from area to area and person to person, sorry if I went on for 2 long.

Either start a personal forum or ask in the suggestions section I suppose.

Yes, I know the "holy ?" thing and I really like the idea, so the whole thing about the nazis really upset me.
On their website, the DUR also states all these things, but I read the whole association is connected to the nazi scene...
Pity. I'll have to move into another country. ;)

Well, okay, thanks for you replies!

UUs' never did that. That's the Universal Life Church that ordains people online. To be a UU minister you have to go to seminary and be an intern for awhile and do all sorts of other stuff.

My grandmother and mother were both UU's. She went to UU church so she and her husband could worship together. It's a growing faith, because people are realizing that there are to many shared truths among religions for it to be a coincidence.
