Do they do background checks at gun ranges? How much does it cost to shoot at a range? Do they provide the guns at gun ranges? How much do they cost to rent?

Ive never been to one that does. You go through lots of background checks through the state depending on what gun you bought in the first place...but at a range? No....though their might be some where you have to do a check. I would imagine these are special ranges..ones where only police or armed forces are allowed. Personally if they asked for my background i would go somewhere else.

Every range ive been to is outside and you just walk up and shoot. You show respect of those around you by handling your guns properly. You say 'hello' and show respect to the person next to you. A lot of people at ranges are very up front and friendly...cause we don't want any kind of....fight...

Always assume every gun is loaded regardless.
Never aim your gun even if you know its unloaded at something you wouldnt destroy.
Pick up your fucking shells you shotgun lovers... -.-

Everyone ive been to is free. Though indoors might cost you as some of them supply the paper targets. That and they just need funds to keep the place running.

Yes some do. I might look at at the gun if they allow it, but i wont rent it. Waste of money unless you plan on buying that exact firearm. Ammo is not cheap as is, so to buy theirs your just paying a crazy amount.

If you have to ask, I'm thinking that they should. You sound like you have something to hide.

No practicing to shoot your ex, k?

Background check at a gun range?

    Sure, why not.

"Hello Sir. How are you today?"
"Hi, I just wanted to rent a gun and do some target shooting."
"OK, I'll just need two forms of picture I.D., Your SS#, 3 personal references, any aliases you may have used, and your last address."
"OK Then we will just fax all this over to the Department of Justice and they should get back to me in about 10 days. That will be $200 for the background check."

"But I just do some target shooting for an hour?"

Yeah, background checks at a shooting range ain't gonna happen.

    Not in Louisiana.

Every one is different, but what I'm used to paying is $15/hour for indoor pistol ranges and $15-20/all day for out door rifle ranges. Out door ranges have a cheaper set up, and less maintenance costs.

Some do, most don't, and the price varies.

But all this info is only valid in Louisiana.

    just membership fees here..yearly

back ground checks are more or less done by the rcmp ...the clubs just make sure you have the right permits to own and transport

ive never seen one that rents guns..pretty sure id never want to fire a rented one anyway...id prefer knowing its history and condition/quirks

Most of the gun ranges here are at Sportsman Clubs. The only way you can get in is to be a member or have a member with you. And no you can't rent a gun. Now not to say you can go to any abandonned gravel pit and shoot all day for nothing. They don't rent guns at abandonned gravel pits either.
