    Hey there,

I have had LSD approx 5-10 times over the years and almost on all occasions there is a feeling a couple of days afterwards of feeling very mentally "drained" or "depleted". It takes a few more days to return to normal and the severity is usually proportional to how much LSD was taken.

I'd like to hear from anyone that has experienced this and has an opinion on what exactly the cause may be (obviously taking LSD, but more specific in terms of what chemicals are depleted and if there is a way to "boost" yourself nutritionally to counter this)

Some ways I would describe it:

    -It is difficult to think.
    -Easily frustrated/agitated.
    -Poor problem solving skills
-Dulled feeling in the brain. Almost an ache.

    Thanks

To me, the effects depend on the purity of the acid - and it only lasts 12-24 hours for me... so trip on a friday/saturday night and i'm good for work on monday.

Not-so-pure acid gives me a frazzled headache - decent stuff does not, but i still get the drained feeling. Can also be tiredness & I imagine some of it will be related to the way acid suppresses certain parts of your active mind.

I also only really get the difficult to think side-effect... could put that down to tiredness because i usually trip overnight. No irritability, quite the opposite - i'm usually in a great mood.

Are you sure it was LSD and not a nbome. Most people that think they have gotten LSD in 2012 really took a nbome.

Crashes I've had from LSD primarily involve aches from the muscle tension but I've had a couple trips where I felt mentally exhausted. LSD effects several different neurotransmitters like dopamine receptors (responsible for attention and alertness) and serotonin receptors (responsible for mood). I don't believe LSD 'depletes' either of these neurotransmitters but having the altered transmission may take awhile to return to homeostatic (normal) functioning causing some of those after effects you experience.

In terms of what actual chemicals are depleted, it is Serotonin and Dopamine. There are many supplements you can take to help with both, but really just give it a few days, the hangover is normal.

I have experienced a drain the next day, I usually just smoke some pot and do things I enjoy to keep myself happy through that time of mental drain. After that next day drain (Which only actually has happened to me after night trips, ie staying up all night) I am usually facing the next week much more upbeat and more at peace with what's around me. I tripped not too long ago, and this week just flew by so far at work.

I think dehydration and not eating enough while being physically active, combined with insomnia do make most folks feel a touch of grey the next day. Part of nature i think.

Remedy is found in a cold orange juice, though some prefer a bloody mary .

LSD always tended to leave me feeling glow-y after a trip sometimes for days, like a kid who moves from the city to the country and is seeing the earth for the first time.
