Recently due to the injestion of medicine prescribed to children with attention disorders i came to relizations and revelations on god that i had never peiced together before. My belief in a god was that of i didn't really care or understand and din'dt look at ways to prove or dis prove it. But i knew of science and i knew of catholicism, and i always felt sceince canceled it out, but heres where i had my revelation. So this is what i wrote during this time..... god rambling For a long time this year in the spring I started to think about the people I knew and the people around me. I became fascinated with the way humans work and how they can be devided down into trait’s that are engrained as in any early and primitive mamal. I started to feel like these ideas would cancel out god, making it no room for him. But recently I had a revelation on God, an understanding on how the devine and the physical can easily co exist and depend on each other. I relized that God being all knowing, before he even created man knew that if he began with with a perfect man just sat him here on this earth without problems, theird be less of a reason for the entire existance of man, because if you think about it our entire culture is only unique and interesting because its not perfect, and like if god made it perfect thered be no sense to have it. Its sort of like a movie, you know how in a movie when somethign bad definaly is goign to happen and you just hope it doesn't, but the truth is thered be no reason to have the movie if it diddin't happen. Well i think since god invented concept of humans he wanted to make it as intricate and deep as possible, so man woudln't ever run out of things to strive for, Like he created heaven, and he knew heaven was answers and the ned the eternal peace, but i think that the biggest gift god gave us, deeper than the whole creation its self is freewill. God wanted us to be able to sorta test this life out he created on his own, its like you can't have your parents making all your choices if you will ever grow or learn or even enjoy your life, so i think god created this beautiful place but a place that was built entirely on how thigns affect evertying else, And he created a power of good and evil, so that man would have choice even deeper of where he wanted to go, and man could form his own ideas on everything and develop his own moral codes and ideas, So we think about it and some say, if theirs a god why does man suffer, But its more like God gave us a blank peice of paper and some crayons, He could have gave us a picture that was all mapped out with what colors everything was to be colored, but what excitement or life is their in that. He wanted to give us a ball of clay and do what we wanted with it, he wanted to more give us things then just force a life one us, The God i know and love wanted his people to enjoy this life to its exact fullest while developing who they are as person morally and spiritually. He wanted us to constantly be in question of this world and never reach an end to it (death isn't an end) it sjust an end to our gift from god resulting in the ultimate gift, heaven being the ultimate gift because we already experienced things of life on our own with pain and suffering and happiness and sadness, and god wants to put at the end kind of a rest to this intense beautiful life, life is in no where evil or bad it was made hard so wed have reason to go, but like recently im beggninngin to mix catholic ideas with buddhist and scientific ideas for example. I believe there was an evoluton but to keep things from being so simplistic and basic god wanted man to form himself, learn right and worng on his own, its kinda like to an extent a parent has to let their kids make decisions on their own, because these are the main vaulues of becoming strronger with who you are, and god knows you spend your whole life questioning faith and existance, so he knew the reward for figuring things out would be some of the greatest accomlishments and good understandings result in the gretest joy of all. And the joy he set up for us is so much sweeter than an endless joy, because its a joy we have to work for, instead of a joy we just live in, Because yeah that would feel great but we woudl never know anything else, wed never know pain, loss, death, greivance, things that we must learn because they aer apart of this life. So god offest this very simple simple simple thing of evoltion and then he created this Devine sort of like a glue to how evertyghin in this world of ours fits together, The glue being nature, and the unseen boundaries that make evyerhing linked and make sense. So he let nature compeltly play out of its own, with his own help every now and then but for the most part he was letting life develop and mature because the beauty of life and the cahnge for benifits in life are of the most beauty, he could have set all animals here but then this whole earth would have had beauty but less importance, with this world evolving and coming from scratch it gives it an unworldy or scientifically stature , making it the most beautiful life form on its own, as every life form on this planet it has grown stronger and bigger, well the big representation of that is the earth, it started out something so basic and god let it grow because he wanted it to be such a magnificent thing that it could grow and eventually after so long of breaking down and repair nature would kinda fall into a grove, and finally the final being , man, would come about, gods children adn the complete efforts of the earth, of nature, of science of time of patience, so man was primitive and god didn't want man to be set at this perfect mind and intellegence, it would make the whole future and forever the race of man riding out some plateu, and making his gift of earth to us sort of an immediate and temporary gift, one that doesnt move to where it is, and as human beings if our lives sat on a plateua theyd be so boring because we knew there was nothing to work or live for, So he gave us a brain and let nature and culture and everything slowly influence and develop it through differn't waves of civilizations and differn't trials and errors throughout histories and differrent amazing advances, so this is sort of the evolution of man, his most prided creatures, becauuse the other creatures he let develop to an extent and become stronger and quicker but the most influental gift he gave to the ones he loved, he gave a mind, i don't know how one person thinking of how our mind works can't see how totally bizarre it is we developed this complex of one without some sort of devine intervention. I think God gave us free will but little helps along the way to help us out, sort of to light differn't fuses for us to grow better and faster, and maybe somee pushes in certain direction, but he wants us as man to be completly free, because if you think about it america is s o respected because of its freedom and russia is looked down apon because of its limited lifestyle, So god is so much more intelligent that he can see this is the only thing us humans would love, freedom. Or else once again our existance wouldn't matter, i don't at all see us as gods play things but more of like hist students in this class of life, but this is a class were your constantly faced with questions, but all answers are up to you. I beleive god helps man with answers because some things are too complex for us, that we need help so that we can become stronger and more advanced, Scientists like to use pride and say that science is so purely in existance and defeats god. My thoughts are science is the most copmlex and beautiful linking up of everything of this universe. I Think no one understands how non selfish and non demanding of a god he is, He put together the big bang and laws of nature and laws of evolution sorta of like how he could be the reactant you know, designing the beggingnin but letting the reaction of this place grow and react on its own, He didn't want us to spend the whole life on this beautiful place sitting at some finish line never goign or coming, but he made the whole point of life so you always have some were to go from where you are. God doesn't want our life to be a blissful stalement he wants it to be an adventure, The thought of bad things happening canceling out thought of god WOuld only make sense if we had no control of any of our destiny of any movememnt of any word spoken, We were given this world to play with to have as our own, to make mistakes and learn from them, to always grow stronger from learning, to have important meaningiful expereicnes to find things the hard way, so we arn't just handed everything , this way we learn respect for the good and the bad. God i belives is there to help us with certain questions as humans we can’t understand. Its so beyond me a scientist would make the discoverys he makes and not credit god, we as men are complex, but if we havn’t even found peace within ourselves or ways to end so much more basic problems in this world, how did we find every small proof and working of nature, The intricate design of nature if a work of art its like the thread of the sweater. The sweater keeps you warm and has its own purpose and complete nature of what it is, but its held together by string, that is how god planned the whole universe, nature is what bands it all together. Nature is sort of the secrets god hid in our gift of this planet, You see it but you don’t relize how much is going on invisibly, he wants man to discover it. He controls and set it all up, No science cancels out god in my opinion it strengthens ideas. I think man has grown cocky in how complex he thinks he his, We are intelligent and developed but we have so far to go, We’ve made advancements but its not like we’ve hit some end or peak of all answers to this world, We as humans arnt’ as godlike as we think to discover and understand every form of our being without if being helped by our creater, If there was nothing devine, no god, and all this came from nothing, then there is no way we would have discovered this much just at the way man works, We have some great minds, but I think god allowed men to come across these ideas at certain times in history so we would slowly become stronger and stronger. There were ages of great advancement but if you look the way we evolved into thought and ideas wasn’t immediate, we had a burst of ideas in the renassaince, and then lay down, then wed have bursts of sciences many years later, its so man constantly has just enough push to pull forward, Don’t you think that if we discovered the amazingly important things in the renasaince we would have constantly made more developments? Just at a constant becauser our minds had hit some sort of high? Well there were advancements and there were breaks and evancements , were moving at a pace were we still constantly question, but have ability to find more answers, and discover more about the great gift. The earth is mysterious but I believe god wants us to know about it, He knows it would blow our mind how it works, its just disgusting man would have such pride to think that he figured this out on his own. When you give someone a gift youd want them to use it and learn about it and somehow have it affect them for the better. I can’t think of a gift with more ideas qualities than one that does that. Well that’s exactly what wwe were given. I know this isn't going to change soemoens views on god, so dont' get offeneded im not trying to convert or show anyone the light, I really dont' care, i just think taht some of the ideas i created are justifiable mind fucks that just sorta groove into understandings of your brain. Maybe whats cool for me is stupid for others peace
That was hard to read man, shorter sentences and paragraphs would do wonders. Anyways, I don't agree entirely (especially with your view of god), but it was interesting to read. I do agree that it would be pointless to have all joy and peace (i like your analogy to a movie). I don't even know if those things can exist without their opposites of sadness and pain and suffering. Maybe we have to go through hell to understand how great heaven really is (though I use those terms as metaphors for how we view the world we live in). The steel must be tempered in the flame to be made strong. I don't see it as a test, like many god-believers do, with god selecting the few from the many using this test of suffering; I just see it as a necessary condition of physical existance (like Buddhist philosophy states). All things have opposites, so with joy, there is sadness, with pleasure, pain. Of course, the only constant is that nothing is constant, joy will pass, so heaven will pass. Here is where my outlook is quite Buddhistic; attaching to these transitory things is pointless, even attaching to "heaven" because eventually heaven fades and we see hell again. God is the only thing beyond this dual nature of opposites, though I don't see god as an entity like you seem to. If each opposite is half of a unity, the two opposites together is the unity; God is the unity of every opposite, and thus transcends them all. It's more abstract and I don't really even understand it.
If all people were annihilated from the earth, consequently with our actions (which is the only tool used to reflect our beliefs), Then god would not exist. It is an entirely fictional, human made 'entity'.
Good read. Agree shorter sentencing would be helpful (please god, a shorter sentence!) I believe that we are all perfect in every way. The problem is that we don't believe that we are. And because we don't believe it, we prevent ourselves realizing it, therefore perpetuating the downfall. Those who have attained enlightenment are those who came to realize and believe, that they were God.
