Hello, Ever since I was in the 7th grade. I wanted to change the world and see equality between everyone. I hated the wars that plagued our beautiful earth and simply noticed the hatred that was spreading. I started to research and noticed that I had the same ideas and beliefs as a hippie did. Later I came across this website and it gave me belief that there still were hippies out there, and maybe bring them all together to change everything before it was too late. but when I tried to tell one of my friends about the exciting news, he just laughed at me, and told me that hippies are dead, and that I could not do anything. Ever since from what he said, I gave up on my "false" dream and become depressed. Ever Since then, I had a achy feeling in my heart. I was sick of seeing the corrupt government sending us to war for their own selfish desires, of seeing people being so apathetic to each other and the system that enslaves us all. I really want to bring the hippie movement back, to its fullest. I know it sounds impossible, but if one man named ghandi could have had such a huge impact to the world and reach millions. Why can't we? We know that the USA is trying to start a war with Iran, and this could cause a WW3(which I dont want to happen) ... I want to make a change, but I don't know where to start. I don't know how to bring the hippie movement back, and bring it back to its full potential like in the 1960's. So please provide me with answers that could provide me ideas to make my dream a reality. I know it will be hard since there are so many apathetic people who don't care anymore of whats going on, and people who will judge me for my cause. But I do have Faith in that saying that one man can make a difference in the world.
Have you thought about politics-don't like the government, become the government-see how it works, change it.....one person at a time. We can all make a difference....in recovery from my own addictions, brought on by the 60's , and have found a little peace helping others, a baby step at a time. It's taken us 400-500 years to get north america to the shape it s in, it'll take that long to change the course, it s a large ship, with many captains
Nice one uitar9. I've heard a lot of people wanting to change the world. I've had that idea myself, based mostly on acid visions. I dedicated >35 years to that project through working in service to others. Now I'm resting, doing a little service of a different sort in helping put on psytrance gatherings - straight to the mind. I changed my world and the world around me in positive ways. I didn't save the world hahahahahaha but in limited ways/overall, I believe it's been a better place for my presence. I couldn't ask for more.
The only real change comes from within, from where you are. You can't push the river. Just do what's right.
Dude, you can't bring back the Hippie Movement from the 60's. Sorry. But what you can do is start a new movement with similar themes and believes. This is a different age, one of new forms of information and communication. Use the tools of today to make a different. Good luck to you dude. You have my support.
Hello brother,we share a same dream an i think you should tottaly shoot me an email,,hope to hear from you man
I have the same desire. I would probably never leave my house if another WW happened. Our government here in the U.S. is shitty and scary. I would love to get involved in a new revolution. Give me something to fight for Awaken our lives and our souls. We need a new revolution. eace:
well, you seem to be falling into the trap of seeing the PROBLEM lies outside yourself. I see it is no use trying to change what is outside yourself. all that happens if you do ... is you get depressed ... like you said. so what I do is look INSIDE. the problem is not the world outside. the world outside has always been what it is. love and hate, war and peace ... in a never ending cycle. the Karmic Wheel. the Duality. Ying and Yang. Irony! the problem is HOW you see! what you see is what you are! the observer IS the observed. go INSIDE to find a peaceful viewpoint! Peace, Man ... it's INSIDE! (and oh yeah ... Gandhi ... much as I admired his style and resonated with his truths ... changed doodlysquat ... and got himself killed.)
