I recently read in Rolling Stone that voice specialists are developing a serum to inject into the larynx that will restore singers' voices to their original tone. It's supposed to be out in the next 3 -5 years. I can't wait for all the new albums and tours that will ensue. Can you imagine going to a show and hearing Robert Plant at peak-Zep power? The future is fucking awesome.

Would having their original voices improved this?

Would Johnny Cash's Hurt video have been improved by his 1960 voice?

This procedure sounds like a way to cement the faulty notion that music is something created by the young to be consumed by the young.

Well I read it in Rolling Stone magazine, not the internet, but I'll look for one.

I've heard Paul Rogers and Ian Gillan in the last 10 years. They're both still fucking awesome

So was Fogerty (2005ish). And of course Tom Jones is an awesome singer.

Don't know how I'd feel about extending the careers of others....we might still be hearing Bieber in 40 years....yikes.

There's noting that can extend his career. Once this stupid Beiber phase is over, he will be forgotten just like every Beiber before him. The very mention of his name will make people chuckle, just like when someone says Vanilla Ice or Milli Vanilli.

Surgeons inject stomach fat into vocal cords to strengthen speech.

‘Voice-lift’ surgery is becoming the latest must-have for those keen to turn back the clock.
Ear, nose and throat surgeons say the operation to restore youthful tones can boost the confidence of business people who believe their authority is eroded as their voice ages.
And with more people working well past retirement, the voice lift, which costs up to £6,000, is expected to become increasingly popular.

There will be more. Never underestimate the power of the 12 yr old girl...The the big record companys have them on staff in the R&D department.

    I'm not kidding :(

Isn't it sad? I heard him (Bieber) being interviewed and he had the colossal temerity to say "everyone uses autocorrect, no-one can sing in tune all the time".

    How appalling.

Music is, and always should be, an organic experience. I loathe the modern "perfection" of pre-recorded shit that the "artist" sings along to.

Give me a smoky bar with blues, rock, or even country, and a bunch of people who can play, often with dodgy (or no) foldback, a complete inability to see or hear their fellow musicians and a drunk audience. Now THAT'S music.

Men and women confuse me when they do things like this. Your old. You should look old, sound old, and feel old. You've earned it. You spent an entire lifetime being taken advantage of and used because of your youth and dexterity.

You now have the excuse to have a raspier, more aged and experienced voice. Adding depth and diversity to a platform of music your already well comfortable in. Why spend money on a procedure that allows you to revamp your tired swan songs? Use your aged charisma to show your still a contributing member of musical culture. I would anyway.

lol, wow using injectable polyethylene glycol polymere to recreate vocal cords..
You know, some polymers can cross-link with the application of electric current...anyone see where I'm going with this?

Think about what an electric throated Heavy-metal singer could do

Awesome link BTW, thnx 'RealThing :2thumbsup:

I didn't really notice much. Maybe a little more fluid movement as opposed to stiffness. I was supposed to do more rounds. Maybe it's something that has to build up.
