Really? I thought it caused liver damage.

Coffee. My grandma religiously had coffee every morning and she lived to be 96.

I have to say making weed cookies isn't the safest way unless the cookies are oatmeal bran cookies then you are still taking in nasty sugars which are bad for you. I'd reccomend healthy whole wheat weed pasta, or maybe cannabutter on a slice of whole wheat bread, keeping your body healthy is important.

The kava plant has poisonous tops and leaves, but the root does not contain this poison. Buy only from people who have earned your trust and do not adulterate their product with these dangerous additives.

I think you have a point about coffee. In moderation, it is very good for you and obviously your grandma!

I honestly can't think of any drug that is actually safe. Even Cannabis, while physically devoid of side effeects, does, undeniably "kindle" mental illness in those prone towards it. So I wouldn't call that safe. I would just call it "safer" than other drugs. Opioids are physically safe unless you are abusing them and could overdose, but they are terribly addictive, so they're out. Benzos? Not too bad mentally, but physically they do terrible things to your brain such as creating irreparable memory loss.

Hmm...alcohol? Haha. Not even worth talking about that crap! Stimulants? Not too bad for your body if taken at low doses, but the addictive factor is extreme. Psychedelics are actually not bad for the body or mind since they are not the type of drugs you take daily. But then again, a small minority of people get psychosis from them. But it is very low.

So that is my vote: serotonergic psychedelics like Mescaline or Psilocybin.

A friend of mine took angel dust and the psychiatrist claims that it was what triggered the onset of his schizophrenia. He thinks that my friend may never have developed it had he not touched the angel dust.

I don't have the training to agree or disagree, but it is an interesting "what if"...

Yeah. PCP is a dual NMDA antagonist and Dopamine Type 2 receptor agonist. It is commonly believed that Schizophrenia is the result of genetic factors that make one have a "messed up" glutamate transmission system (NMDA receptors are glutamate receptors) and also an over-expression of Dopamine 2 receptors versus Dopamine 1 and 3 receptors. So even in my very short and simplified description, you can form an idea about why your friend may have suffered such an unfortunate fate.

So, if there is one drug that IS dangerous, we can add PCP to the list. It is the only drug I know of that is both a strong NMDA antagonist AND a strong Dopamine 2 agonist. That is like lighting your brain on fire or something (crappy analogy but you get the idea!)

I hope your friend recovers at some point. As a person who has Schizoaffective Disorder (not caused by drugs but instead by genetics- it runs rampant in my ancestry), and thus who takes antipsychotic meds daily, I truly feel deep sympathy. While the drugs DO treat the paranoia, delusions, and blizzard thoug processes, they have horrifying side effects and also don't help the symptoms such as depression, low motivation, and social isolation that come with Schizophrenic type disorders.

People CAN think for themselves, you know......

You should also consult a doctor before switching brand of multivitamin, I suppose. But I pick the one that makes me feel the most healthy.

OP: Physically, and when properly used, weed and the traditional psychedelics.

As far as pharms go, not very many...... Opiates are deadly and life eating, etc....

Baked, not fried...it's the healthy choice!
