They have put up the big tent and are putting heaters in it now. Anyone wanting to come help is welcome. Please remember this is not a gathering, it is to provide relief to victims of hurricane Sandy.

If you do decided to come help wear very warm clothes as the weather is in the high 30's right now and be self sufficient, bring your sleeping bags & gear if you intend to spend a few days.

Greetings All....

I am proud to announce that a new operation is now under way at a new location. rainbow rapid response #Sandy will be supporting the U-Need Help? Hurricane Sandy House Gutters at the VFW Hall in Haslet, NJ. Efforts are under way to transplant necessary gear and supplies from the Union Firehouse Grill and elsewhere and we will have updates as they become available.

The WePay below goes straight to supporting the House Gutters. To support rainbow rapid response, continue to use the links in the files below. We do need a few seasoned kitchen volunteers and anticipate continuing an outreach kitchen. So stay tuned and don't touch that dial!

ya'll are very welcome Ranger! it's so awesome how many kitchens are opening up and the folks helping to clean up the mess,,,, makes me glad to be a human being!
with all the negative shit going on thanks to the greedy and powerful, i feel the earths pain,,,, so seeing folks helping one another ,,, well it just affirms my belief we are more good than not, us beings all over Mother!

ATTENTION: THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT. The Union Firehouse Grill is no longer operational. This page continues to exist as a virtual meeting spot and collaboration space for those who want it, but it no longer serves as a functioning working group for the Union Firehouse Grill. Other relief efforts are ongoing, we hope to keep you all update regarding those efforts here.
