Just remembered a dream i had as a kid

Hi. So when i was 6-8 years old, i had this dream:
In the dream, i found myself falling down from the Earth. As i fell, i could see the beautifull blue planet (Earth) and the surrounding space filled with little white stars. The falling didn't last long as beneath the planet was an ancient civilisation waiting for my arrival. I landed on the ground without any damage. Then the ancient people came to prepare me for sacrifice. I wanted to escape but couldn't move, except my eyes. So i looked around to see that the place where i was, was a portion of detached land from who knows where. It was apparently floating in the emptiness of space, since in the sky was the planet Earth. In front of me was a pool of fire. Around the pool were many hanged people, various flora and members of the ancient civilisation. They wore what looked like voodoo masks and garments and were chanting in a language i could not understand. In the back, on the other side of the pool of fire was a big temple (with Aztec design) and on top of it the shaman or sorcerer who was in control of the ritual. He yelled some things, the followers chanted and i was thrown in the pool. As i was burning, various creatures came from under the fire to eat me alive (guess they liked roasted children). As i was pulled apart, i lost consciousness, and woke up hot and sweaty.

So here it is, if anybody can help me find meaning in this, please give your thoughts. ^_^ Nice day\night wherever you are!

 

sounds like a shamanic initiation to me, but it would probably be better deciphered by you... you have to think about each element of the dream and what each element means to you... try to examine the feelings you have about each part of it... dreams can often be about deep-seated fears... i can't tell you though, only you can do that... interesting dream though and, like i said, in my opinion, it could be a shamanic initiation... do you know much about Carl Jung and Archetypes? have you had similarly alarming dreams/experiences?

 

Hi thanks for the reply. No i don't know about Carl Jung and Archetypes, i'll use google to check it out. Haven't had any other similar dreams or experiences, at least not that i can remember right now.

Edit: Ok so i checked on google about Carl Jung and Archetypes, but cannot make anything of it with my dream. Also as far as i can remember, i can't think of anything major that happened in my life back when i had this dream.

 

that was the way they taught in school about pre-columbian mezo-america when i was growing up in the 50s. a lot of that turned out to be mostly just prejudice and propiganda.

a lot of so called archtypes just aren't that universal from one culture to another, though they may be semi-consistent within specific belief systems, though only within them.

one can certainly have dreams, having this things in mind from being taught them in school.
