What will you have for christmas dinner? Are you cooking or going somewhere else for dinner? Will everyone at your christmas dinner be vegetarian?
Is the reason that nobody has answered this is because vegetarians here will be skipping out on christmas dinner?
mmmmm xmas dinner. last year i made a tofurky. this year i'm going to visit and spend xmas eve night at my mothers.. so xmas dinner will be whatever she cooks.MEAT! i'll have to be a bunny and just have salad and bread. but i decided to bake some vegan goodies to bring along. banana almond bread and peach cobbler. i'm not going to tell them that i made them vegan or they'll all act like its poisonious. funny. but whenever i do make something vegan to share with my family.. they finish it off.. UNLESS i tell them its vegan .. then i have to eat it all... which really isn't a bad thing at all.. MORE FOR ME!
there is this awesome romanian food called Placenta de spanache (spelled way wrong) it is like backlava but with spinache and cheese ( to you vegans you may not like it) I love rice... and um cheese... thats pretty much my cristmas dinner... same with thanksgiving... I ate mad rice salad bread and pie... thats an amazing dinner if you ask me... at least im really greatfull for it. food is awesome... Im at work and you have made me hungry.... HAve a happy holliday
It looks like I'll be scavenging for fruits and crackers while the rest of my family eats rotting flesh to celebrate the non-birth of Jesus :sunglasse
I reckon I'll be having peppered Quorn steaks and vegetables, while everyone else tucks into the dead poltry.
artichokes and a veggie burger. not much different than every other night, but one of my favorites no less!
Well since I am nota vegi I gonna eat a nice wine soaked buffalo roast, turkey with all the trimmings, pie, cheese, and proud of it! As for all you vegi's out there! I am glad you stick to your guns when at family and if they were kind they would go out of there way a bit. I made a vegi spagehetti once when a couple vegi friends came to visit. Lots of chunky vegi's in it. As a meati (haha) it was not all that bad to me a dnwe all had a good time.
hahahahha you eat placenta. hahahhahaa sorry i had to. how immature of me. i am having all the fixings except the gobbly one. instead, i'm having quiche.
lol, i love specia occasion cooking. As the only vego at the table I had my very own tofurkey, with an orange and rosemary stuffing and a maple glaze..it was awesome and my aunties voraciously meat eating specialfriend thought it was very nice and that he wouldn't mind it as a replacement for roast chicken...crazy, it was a good xmas
For my christmas dinner i got: Rice porridge (rice boiled with milk) Potatos with homemade cheese and coriander Savoy cabbage stuffed with homemade cheese and almonds Deepfried spicy potato swirls Beetroot salad with horse-radish Spicy spinach with homemade cheese Caramel-lemon flavored semolina pudding With the exception of the rice porridge (risengrød in Danish), which everybody eats, I made the rest myself. Regards
I grate a carrot and courgette, finely chop an onion, a stick of celery, some spinach and some garlic, and then fry in olive oil until a mushy consistency is attained. Next, I add lots of finely chopped nuts - brazils, almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, walnuts and a smattering of sunflower seeds. Then I add wholemeal breadcrumbs. I flavour the mix with a dash of soy sauce, a good load of sage, some marjoram and maybe a bit of vegetable stock. Once that's done, I add a beaten egg to bind (vegans could use soy flower as a binding agent). Finally, I layer half of the mix in a greased loaf tin. I then add a layer of grated cheese and sliced tomato. I then add the rest of the nut mix on top and press the whole thing down firmly to compact it. I then scatter some flaked almonds on top to garnish. Then bake until cooked. Don't ask me about quantities or times as I do everything by eye. If you need a more exact recipe, I'm sure there's a few floating around the web somewhere.
