I'm surprised this isn't a sticky topic. Dreams about teeth coming out. I know many people get them, and I have had quite a few before. Last night I had quite a vivid one. The dream involved a lot of stress and running around, I had been late for some important stuff (though I wont go into all of that). The whole time my main front teeth were in agony, I was pushing them together really hard and they were just snapping and splintering with lots of pain. At the same time, I was trying (with all my might) to stop this from happening but my teeth were just locked together splintering and it was very frustrating. I have had this exact type of teeth breaking dream before, and I was just wondering, has anyone else had this exact type of teeth dream? If not, what type of teeth dreams have you had? Cos my bf (and other people) said he gets them from time to time, but he says in his, he is pulling his teeth right out of his gums and stuff with the same helpless feeling. I searched a bit and apparently these dreams are strongly linked to anxiety (which makes sense cos ive got loads of exams and work at the mo) but my main questions to people are: What teeth dreams do you get? And do they physically hurt (as far as you can tell)? I'm just worried that I'm grinding my teeth in my sleep or something (for it to actually cause feelings of pain). Furthermore, does anyone know much themselves about teeth related dreams in which they can explain more thoroughly? Thanks for reading, would appreciate some experiences/opinions!

I have had many teeth dreams when I was younger where my teeth would be falling out for no apparent reason. But I actually just had one the other night (but i don't really rem it too well) all I remember is I was clenching and grinding my teeth in my dream and I couln't stop it!! and I felt pain also, but I do have a problem with grinding my teeth in my sleep...so maybe you do it and haven't realized it until now? or it was just a one time thing since like you said you are under alot of stress right now.

hope that helped a little.. =)

i've had dreams where I looked in the mirror and several teeth were missing. but I wasn't aware of it before in the dream, and it didn't hurt. I just figured it stemmed from the fact that I had a space in my two front teeth that you could squeeze two nickels through. I had it till I was 18.

most recently i've dreamed that I went to the dentist and there were marijuana flowers growing out my teeth and gums, I guess since i'm a grower.

i get these dreams too, also with pain. in mine it usually starts off as pain in my teeth and turns into me being completly helpless to them falling out to the point where i just have to go dgaff on it and start pulling them out myself. the most recent one i had though took a weird twist. instead of teeth coming out weird sculpture like things kept coming out of my gums and i was just completely dumbfounded in the dream and would save all of these things that came out hoping to document what was happening. i hate these dreams the most.

on a side note, they're just another example of how similar we're all hardwired. know what im saying?

Now - even though dreams about teeth are pretty widespread - there are many other dream subjects that are as common, and which to make sticky and which not would be a good question then ... without loosing out of sight that each dream is unique beyond the topic you put it under. Bear with me for the long winding sentence !

Btw if you use the search function, you may find a bunch more teeth dreams !

Hi, I had a few dreams about teeth: One I still remember well was to get a huge tooth extracted from my mouth, big like a giant animal tooth... I was surprised in my dream...

Later on, I read a dream interpretation that was telling that a dream about a tooth or animal tooth could symbolize raw feelings that have not expressed. I remember feeling pretty confused and angry about a situation at home at that time and I was also going through a big time of change, going out of school... Losing a big tooth could have been relating to the fact that I was afraid of talking about my feelings with my family AND a sign that things were changing big time for me.

About your dream... You know, sometimes, dreams about teeth are triggered by simple sensations in your mouth (a sort of reaction to a physical stimulus), which might explain whey you're having the same dream over and over again about your front teeth. Could also be that you are trying to tackle an issue or a concern that's pretty challenging and that the dream imagery of your teeth keeps coming back to tell you something: If your teeth are locked together in your dream, it might be a sign that you're trying to express something important, but for some reason, you're holding back?

God, I hate those dreams, I've been having them sporadically for years. Don't recall feeling any sort of pain though, just pure panic. Sometimes they crumble or get really lose and fall out and I try to put them back/keep them in my gums. Always wake up really freaked, though aside from some crookedness and a few cavities I don't have any teeth problems. Interesting how it's so common though, isn't it?

Here's a web page that has a scientific explanation for teeth dreams. Might be helpful: http://www.teethfallingoutdream.org/dream-about-teeth-falling-out/ . Look at the bottom of the page, there's an article about recent dream studies that attribute dreams about teeth falling out to a stimulation of the mouth nerves. Interesting viewpoint to complement the more traditional dream interpretations...

can't say as i've ever had my teeth play a major roll in my dreams. in real life, over the many years i have lived, more then a third of them have fallen out. but never in dreams.

I've had $5000 out of pocket, $19,000 total, worth of dental work this year. And just recently I had a dream that the work that I had done began to go south. Little pieces of teeth would start falling out while I was eating and I was chewing on them. I stopped, felt my teeth and they started to fall out whole in front of my date. It was completely horrifying.
