I have always loved dreadlocks since I was young if I can remember right I was six years old when I noticed them. The way they looked on some women was amazing and wanted to have dreadlocks as well. My mother and father only let me have them in the back/underneath of my straight nice hair though. I had them in High School as well for a year in a half and loved every single day of them. Now, that I'm older I was thinking of doing dreads again. I know how to do them it also takes sometime to get them started. Just wondering how my husband will think of me having dreads. I still would like them although I'm not to sure about doing them just yet. What should I do? (Sigh)

Hey, I asked him and he said he'd rather you shave your hair into a mohawk

There is actually a dreadlock subforum on this website, but I don't think anyone can help you figure out what your husband is going to think about them.

did it look weird having dreads underneath a thin layer of non-dreads?

i agree with everyone else; your husband would be the only one who knows how your husband feels about any given hairstyle.

You know it's funny. When I made the decision to dread, the absolute last thing on my mind was what my husband would think of them...because I know he loves me enough to not tell me what to do with my body.

Later on, I did find out that he was nervous about it but he was smart enough to keep his trap shut. He absolutely fell in love with them after about a month when my side-show bob tamed a bit.
