If humans do it,or anything else for that matter, can it be un-natural? What manifests-IS,regardless of what has been written. Potentials are almost limitless as are judgements. Faith=something matters. No faith=something matters. Agnostic=who knows what matters? The written word is relatively recent,as I understand. Therefore,so is faith,no faith and agnosticism. Matter of perspective,I suppose. Ya' pays yer money and ya' takes yer chances. Yeeeeeeehaaawwwww--it's a wild world!!!!!!!! Grab 'ahold and hang on!!
It must feel righteous to belittle others. It's often the "christian" way. Barge right on in and let everyone know the unknowable. True believers need to be avoided at all costs. Easier to get a rock to discuss religion with.
What an extraordinary comment..... I am neither gay nor religious. However, I have many gay friends, both men and women. I also have many religious friends, in particular a senior Mormon with whom I often have deep discussions about faith, belief, redemption and so on. The single problem is intolerance. No-one has any right to proscribe an activity that takes place in private between consenting adults. I don't care what a multiply-translated, re-written and re-interpreted book says, forcing your views about private sexual matters on others is wrong. And as for your idiotic use of the word faggots...I taught karate to a few gay people, both men and women. The guys were among the toughest I have ever seen. They sure weren't sensitive, other than in having to resist kicking the fuck out of prejudiced morons. Just my2c, live and let live.
Ok,faggots. Nice. That's why we love you hard core believers so much. Always revert to what's really inside.
I am sitting here appalled by all of (her) horrible posts. About being a Christian...please, please do not think she represents what all believers think. People that think like her are an absolute embarrassment to a believer like myself.
Oh, but your posts always make good sense to me,Lynn. I didn't know you were a believer, but your kind of believer is one that no one would even suspect unless told. That would be a REAL christian,to me. Live it,not blab it.
I'm not gay, Lisa, but your post pisses me off. Why? Because I'm a Christian, and your remarks confirm the stereotypes so many people have about Christians: that they're a bunch of ignorant bigots. You tell us what causes homosexuality in an authoritative tone that suggests you know what you're talking about, but I don't think so. Where did you get these ideas? Are you a psychologist? Do you have much experience with homosexuals? Most mainstream psychologists don't accept your theories, although they're in vogue among a fringe group of quack fundamentalist therapists. Your theory of subconscious choices is a new one. Have you published it yet in a peer reviewed journal? Can you cite any psychologist outside the fundamentalist network who believes this? On what data did they base their conclusions? And your use of the term "faggots" is truly inexcusable. What would Jesus say?
THIS. also, irrelevant as it is, for the reasons outlined by okie, should stress that a "subconscious choice" is not a thing that can exist.
What is sad about TRUE BELIEVERS is that their intellectual curiosity has been virtually stopped. They have the ANSWER for themselves and that's it. And the real sad part is that they (some) will belittle others in their so-called righteousness, therefore showing that they don't understand christs message at all. So it goes.
I don't understand why homosexuality is so controversial. If you're gay, be gay. That's just how you are and nothing, including religion or laws, can change that. It's not "right" or "wrong", it just is. If you aren't gay, you shouldn't care if other people are. If gay marriage was legal it would only affect gay people. If gay people go to hell, it only affects gay people, and arguing about it changes nothing. I don't want to offend anyone, but I will say that if there is a god who burns people for eternity as a punishment for something they can't control, he is not a god that I would want to worship.
