Ocala 2013 Gathering announcements - The agreement that would have required Front Gate (FG) to self police, answer to council about the way attendees entering the gathering are being handled and immediately ending the violence, was not approved, by either side. Therefore as the focalizers of the gathering we (who and whatever that means...) have (humbly) had to make changes arbitrarily. Camps where violence has been coming from may not set up at Ocala 2013, although the individuals from those camps are welcome to attend, providing they behave (lIke FAMILY/PEACEFUL BEINGS!). The main thing that will be noticeable in Ocala is no centralized front gate/a-camp at the main trail will be allowed to set up within the permitted area. Smaller camps, where peaceful activities that may or may not include drinking, will be allowed to set up, providing they do not harass, stop cars or allow violence. No drinking will be permitted after a few hundred yards inside the woods from the road, where there will be signs. All rainbow raps, rules and traditions shall remain in force and Ocala will again, for the 12th straight year, be a FS permitted gathering. Welcome Home, focalized by Motorcyce Hippy Al will greet new arrivals. A well-focalized, female-based Shanti Sena will be based with Welcome Home at the front and determine, in a loving, supportive, and non-confrontational manner, potential or actual problems that need addressing. Welcome Home will have a council at the ready 24/7, if and when needed. The FS is backing us up in the event of violence and those details are being finalized as we speak. Daily workshops for council and shanti sena will be taking place at the front, as well, to help us make it a better gathering. All decisions, including if, when and who to call in for help, will be made on the ground, through council process. The Ocala Gathering can become the best of what we want our children to experience and enjoy if we are all willing to do the hard work! The violence must be curbed this year in ocalla--last year we had a snack shop + first aid supply tent near the road on the middle gate-It was not right how many people were attacked for whatever reason was justified-Our camp was then attacked by unstable drunken individuals who did serious harm to one of our campers-We were told if we ever came back to ocalla in the future we would be killed--I'm 52 and this is not how I remember rainbow gatherings in decades past-There must be a contingency plan to stop his type of behavior, even if we go outside the family to secure the well being and safety of all.
