Crazy.

is amazon having some big discounts or something? or did people in britain just hold a meeting and decide that this is the day to shop online?
I think (from what i gathered from the news) was they were estimating it because of last years spending on this day, because its like 3 weeks till xmas so itll have enough time to process, ship and be wrapped up without being late. £222,222 per minute apparently.. ..i do my shopping last minute, or in october/early november to miss all this commotion.
I don't trust online shopping. I did buy one gift online last year and it was a discontinued video game so that was the only way to get it. It was cheap too. I can't imagine spending loads of money based on pictures. I don't like catalog shopping, either.
This year, I have agreed with most of my family that we will be making, not buying our gifts for 'christmas', and it's only being called 'christmas' until we can find something else to call it. Our own traditions, our own celebrations, I'm done doing things because corporations want me to do it. What is christmas? Does anyone ask themselves that? Why do we buy? why do we need so much? We need the love and support of our families, if they're unhappy because they didn't receive a present perhaps they need to rethink their priorities.
Online shopping is the ONLY way to shop Amazon for the latest books and movies, LL Bean for clothing and outerwear, Macy’s for gifts and bedding, Sears for appliances and electronics, :2thumbsup: Hotwater
I do a lot of my shopping online, partly because I live in the sticks and have no transport and partly because it can be so easy to find a bargain for the things you're after. Just for books for Christmas for my kids and niblets, I've saved a massive 80% on RRP and didn't have to drag them home. I do, however, have an issue with people spending money that they don't have. I never buy on credit. If I don't have the funds, I don't have what I'm after. I save for every big purchase and am quite often amazed at what people are willing to get into debt over.
the interwebz will entanglze! :willy_nilly: the reason I heard was people have just had their November payday, and presumably they've waited 'til they got to work today to shop online, rather than waste valuable weekend time. I agree it's mad the money people spend on Christmas, but that's the trend of the consumer society we live in.
