Thanks. I have never heard that version before. Another version by George Winston. It is called the Pachelbel Canon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hydo5gJP22o

well, pachelbel canon is by pachelbel, not george winston or the trans-syberian orchestra. they're each just another group that played the song. the trans-syberian christmas version just pisses me off, because i keep hearing it on the radio and my first thought is "holy shit, they're actually playing this awesome song," but then those damn kids start singing and ruin the whole thing.

I'm at a loss for what Xmas songs I'd choose. Being a creative type of place, maybe we should have a competition amongst forumers to write an Xmas song? Either a rewrite of sthg else, or sthg all new.
Oh dear, I did not mean to offend. As I said it was a different version of the same song. It is actually classical music and I am not even sure it is a "Christmas Song". Whatever. Start a thread about your idea. Anything goes on HF. :2thumbsup:
OK maybe I can be tempted. If someone suggests some songs that have already been written. Or maybe genres of music. And a topic for the song. Who's in it etc/ what its about. I might find it hard, as I don't know who's actually at HF altogether these days. But maybe I can write/rewrite some lyrics. Altho its fair to say, it wont be the Xmas number 1
i'm not offended, and i doubt pachelbel is either considering he's dead. the trans-syberian version is a christmas song, i'm sure the original song wasn't intended as such. i think it's played at a lot of weddings, although i doubt that was the original intent either.

I can't think of any songs that have been reworded at this time but when we were kids in the 50's we had different wording to the Night Before Christmas that started with: Twas the night before Christmas when all through the garage Not a creature was stirring except for the Dodge....... since we were kids I am sure our version was totally clean
