I took 2 years of the Chinese language at my high school. It was so beautiful! Except, I'm kind of a stoner.. So I didn't give my all in that class.. And my teacher didn't help. He would give me stoner time to think after every word he said.. So when he spoke to me in Chinese, it was like..... He...... talked....... to....... me...... like...... this..... But in Chinese, you know? So I was never able to keep up with our real Chinese foreign teacher. And I got super stuck behind, and was in a hole, taking one..... little..... step...... at....... a...... time...... to get out. But I totally wish I cared more, and studied more. The language is beautiful. Makes English sound so monotone and bland. But anywho.. Anyone Chinese speakers out there? Let me brush up on what I used to know! But then again.. The pinyin is also something that made me struggle with the language.. Couldn't pay attention to the symbols, just the pinyin. Oh man, it was hard! Well, then, I guess. Have any of you taken a language class, but had been too stoned to recall? Or even better, what has weed made you forget/regret a little?
I took a week of mandarin chinese.. I only learned ni hao ma. lol. I have horrible anxiety and I just freaked out and dropped the class...it seemed too difficult and the thought of being tested on it scared the shit out of me... I wasn't a stoner then though and I've only taken up smoking pot the past couple of months..
That's interesting that you were able to view chinese as beautiful. The language that I think sounds beautiful is french...
I am not a stoner and learnt Chinese for several years, living in China for a year and a half. I can speak Chinese pretty well. Maybe being stoned is holding you back?
