I'm right in the middle of Canada right now. The prairies, Saskatchewan. Thats where I grew up. Prolly why I dig bluegrass so much. I just got back here from the west coast tho. Thats where I was born. I spend most of my time skipping between the kootenays, the coast and saskatchewan. I'm going up north tomorro to plant trees so I'll be pretty hard to find. In the bush styles. I'm headed to the west coast when I finish in late July, then to Quebec in August for the gathering. International gathering that is. I'm pretty free spirited so it can be hard to track me altho I keep in touch with good friends via emails. Yeah man diggin your style;)

hahaahah yeah sounds like me. never went planting trees though, never swung a "hoe-dad"?? i used to do the harvest season though, i'd do blueberries in maine, apples in vermont or wisconsin, sometimes strawberries in newhampshire or corn in the midwest. everytime i go out west though, its strickty vacation.

whoa neat we're both here now.....I've done a bit of picking. Peaches in the summertime, apples in the fall. Shady grove my little love....Cherries are the best for money and labour. Pickers are kinda sketchy sumtimes tho. Gypsies tramps and theives. Of course some would say I fit into the first two categories. Not so much with planters cause you see eachother everyday and are stuck in the bush together.

Its sweeeeeeeet dude. The winters are cold here tho, so its best to stick to the gulf islands come winter. pickings fun. Theres alotta wwoofing here too. working on organic farms, they just feed ya an put ya up in a cabin but thats cool. Theres mushroom picking here, that pays pretty good. There lots of lavender farms you can work on too. In Feb near Victoria you can pick daffodils. Gee I sure like flowers. Alot of it is under the table so i wouldn't stress too too much about a visa.

No worries - Minnesota is the unofficial 14th Province of Canada.

Keep in mind - you are further 'up' than half the people in Ontario or Quebec ;)

ahaha. its true. but to be an official canadian would just be so much cooler. these foolish u.s.ians with their inches and feet, and miles per hour, what the hell is that anyways? besides, people just seem so much more friendly up there. i once visited canada, it was the friendliest place i'd ever been.

We do speak half-Imperial half-Metric though lol.

Usually people give height in Imperial (5'11) and wieght (x40 pounds)

Fluids like Gas or Milk are always in Metric.

Distance can be either Miles or 'Klicks' (Kms)

I think we do have a good sense of humour in this country. I instantly recognise the Doors skit from KITH in your signature.
If you get a chance to see them live - GO. first class stuff!

(and ya.. I saw them in Vancouver which is a pretty good city. not counting the junkies and thefts ;)

Mark McKinney left SNL and is /was involved with a lot of New York Theatre stuff including a fairly succesful 'one-man show'.
(cant remember the name of it though?)

You can get a video copy of the Queen E 'Tour of Duty' performance
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0366674/

If you freeze frame it during McKinney's bit where he films the audience and look at the balcony ... about somewhere in the middle but to the right... Its Me! Brocktoon! (white shirt.. its obvious).

Hehe ;) (actually a girl with huge 80's hair blocks me grrrrrrrr)

But ya. it was a great show.
They may just do another tour any time now - so be on the lookout.

Bruce McCullough has done some directing including a film called 'Dog Park

Kevin McDonald just appeared on a great Canadian comedy called 'Corner Gas'

Dave Foley did of course - News Radio

Scott Thompson seen everywhere including Conan OBrian alot.

    Uhh the memories
