what thoughts are prominent in your mind as you peruse the forum?

Im preoccupied with someone at the moment. A frustrating situation that needs a different level of communication. Even tho I try to get absorbed in various activities, my mind is dominated by a "loop", if you like, of thoughts. Just wondering how many people out there can't focus on what they are doing and have a similar "loop" experience?

You are posting on a forum, you don't need to be 100% focused....It's not like you are doing something of vital importance.

I am preoccupied even when I'm occupied.

But this forum is a fun break

 

I can get like that but it usually is the inner critic having a go at me. Sometimes it can be anxiety. Try some breathing techniques and mind stilling meditation. That should help.

i'm pre-occupied with remembering embarrassing things i did last night, little by little. this is a nice distraction, but there are better ones. i'd recommend reading. shit-tons of reading.

I'm pre-occupied by me sense of loneliness and isolation.Of how hard it is change my life for the better.Insoluble existential problems.The meaninglessness of everything.My essential disconnectedness to anything,subject or conversation on Hip Forums.How Hip Forums basically bores me.Endless depressing shit like that.

You're definitely not alone, friend. I feel all those things almost EXACTLY!!!

 

I mean, these forums are really bad. Really, really bad. The caliber of discussion here pretty much sucks. Yet often I find myself here, aimlessly combing over stupid threads I've already read, mustering up the effort to respond when something is worthy of it. These days I feel so edgy, like I can't relax, or even get my thoughts together in a meaningful way. I used to like being alone, but now I am not so sure. When I am around people, I want them to go away because they're not anyone I can relate to. There is a woman in my life (albeit barely) who I have feelings for, but she doesn't seem to reciprocate those feelings. I am not even sure why I like her. She's not very smart, she likes things of the lowest common denominator, and she takes advantage of people, namely me. I let her continue to do this for whatever reason... probably desperation and a lack of self-confidence. Yet she is a woman, is very beautiful, and I am enamored by her feminine presence alone. It hurts and has occupied much of my thoughts for the past several months. I almost wish I never met this person.
