So, since the new year is just around the corner, have you people made any resolutions for the upcoming new year 2013? Do you do it every year or never make new year resolutions?
    Discuss! :prettyplease:

No resolutions for me.I accept that I'm a drinker and a smoker, and occasional drug user.I don't want to live forever.I'd like to enjoy myself while I'm still here and have as many new experiences as I can.If I make it to 60 I'll be happy.

I don't think I ever made a new years resolution. If I need to change something I am doing or not doing I would do that throughout the year and not wait till January 1.

Personally speaking, whenever I have made any new year resolution, I have literally failed to fulfill it on every single occasion. Therefore, from last 5 years or so, I haven't made any formal new year resolution.

I was thinking about the smoking one this time around - Never really been one for resolutions in the past but I do like the idea. New year, new page, fresh start and all that. But I just know how glorious that hangover new year's day cigarette and cup of tea will be! Failed before I've even committed :)

I think it's good to set goals, which is really what a resolution is. I plan to work and study a lot and do my best to live a simple, disciplined spiritual life. I plan to close the door on stress, negativity and bad habits.

Like Spectacles said on page one though, why wait to start on such great goals? Just get cracking! :) Does a new year's resolution perhaps have to be a bit crap? Instead of going down the change your life for the better road should it not be stop watching X-Factor or something like that?

^ The start of the new year just gives a bit more encouragement and motivation, regarding the resolution. This maybe the reason why many people make resolutions at that particular point of time.

I'd like to set positive goals, but being such a weak and easily influenced person, i just may go down the drain pipe of life. I need a hero. Can someone stuff one in my christmas stocking?
