I've tried and failed two years in a row to grow poppies. I have read McCormick seeds sprout just fine and so that is what I used. I tried sprinkling in the woods 2 months ago and have not seen a single sprout. I tried sprinkling is potting soil as well and again no sprouts. I live in Alabama and right now the temperature should be favorable to germination, plenty of sunlight with daytime temps around 50-60 and nighttime temps 30-40. What gives?

To cold for one thing... most poppy plants like heat. They also like full sun, so I wouldn't expect much from the ones in the woods.
