Apparently, they introduced the Veggie Deluxe in 1996! Also... 1986: McDonald's became the first UK restaurant group to introduce nutritional information, throughout the country, for the benefit of customers. http://www.mcspotlight.org/company/company_history.html
If she got your order right, didn't do anything bad to your food, and didn't try to rip you off, consider yourself blessed and go on with your life.
Every year I say to myself that THIS time I'm going to go in and try the McRib, and every year I drive by it & say, "Nah!" They still have pretty good fries though.
Ok don't be a dickhead and complain man thats low all because she wasn't lil miss. sunshine. I read that you worked in cust.service don't you remember having bad days and wishing cx's would just fuck off. The lines you said to her I hear every day........seriously, and everyday I wear my little smile and try to make the talk and yes at the end of my shift I loose my fizz esp if you are my last cx before I can leave I'm trying to hurry your ass along so I can get home and get stoned like you!!! Sorry edited to say cx= customers a work thing.......
When I used to work at a sandwich shop there were plenty of times I didn't feel like being friendly. Maybe she was having a bad day. Maybe she doesn't like small talk. Maybe her manager was being a dick or the customer before you was mean. Ya gotta give food industry people a break. They don't want to be there.
MCdonalds is amusing for me at times...youll go in and the underaged managers are starting all kidns of drama with the other employees.
LOL, soo you were off your face, all buggy eyed prob acting weird and creepy and then wonder why she didnt act like she was straight out of a toothpaste commercial for what $5 an hour. The good thing about McDonalds is the cashier doesnt really have the opportunity to spit in your food
^ Agree with Meliai. Also, I'm going to tell y'all something many of you won't want to believe, but I promise it's true. There are any number of managers/places that DO NOT GIVE A CRAP FOR THEIR CASHIERS OR FRONT-LINE PEOPLE TO BE FRIENDLY. I even worked in a couple of places that a boss told me I smiled too much (I've got a mouth full of teeth, so it wasn't like it was hurting anybody to see me smile) and "that encourages the people to talk. We don't want that. We want them in and out." good times...yeah
Such an elitist Eastern European girl. Can't you just be happy you're so pretty and be nice to us losers?
i wouldn't think she would have been that freaked out over a stoned customer. they come in all the time, and they're usually some of the best customers because they never start trouble. hell, you can even fuck up their order and they'll think they just ordered wrong. of course, this is assuming he was high on weed. heroin would be a different story; when people come stumbling in on hard drugs you never really know what they're going to do and it can become a concern.
Service jobs, in the U.S., tend to be a lot of people's first jobs. I've never worked at a fast food restaurant, but I have worked in restaurants. They don't take a lot of talent or experience to do.
Yeah mabey you guys are right, i should cut her a break. Working at bk, my manager would get pissed at me, telling me people are complaining that im not smiling. She said to ALWAYS smile that was like the number 1 thing. I WAS smiling most the time i felt like, and yeah it gets pretty gay and boring for sure, it can wear on you, but then again when you are working like that all you really have is being friendly to customers. What else is there besides shootin the shit with coworkers. But yea I overreacted ok, just wanted to create some drama since i was pissed in the moment
It's really funny and depressing just how many people CAN'T hack it at my job. I'd say just a little less than 60% of new hires actually work out. You'd think a monkey could do it, honestly, but I guess these people are a little lower than picking bugs off each other for sustenance. lol
I'm deliberately pretty nice to cashiers, just 'cause I know it must get really boring and repetitive, as well with having to deal with shitty customers. I try and be patient with then if they're new to the job too. We've all been new at something, after all.
Yes, what's holding back mcdonald's cashiers is their refusal to smile at stoned customers. Just think, they could be making like 20k as a manager, some day, if they smile and make the stoned customers happy.
Can't or don't? I remember DQ was one of the few businesses that would hire 14 year olds in my hometown. It was the cool job to get at that age. Most 14 year olds don't have a lot of consequences to face. Theyre working for change in their pocket, not bills to pay.
