We bought a kitten for our family a couple of days ago, and when we picked him up i didnt notice his fur had black spots in it until i got home. Dead fleas are all over him, hes a persian/himalayn so it was hard to tell at first because of his thick coat. His ears were also full of black gew, it took over 10 cotton balls per ear, and i had to bath him to get all of the dead fleas out. Well the next day i found a live one, and i went online and saw that his ears proably have mites due to the way they look. I paid 100.00 for a kitten who is infested and i have 3 cats indoors that can catch this, thinking they were all dead he was able to run around the first day. 2nd day i called her and she claims she had no idea and how sorry she was.So i let it slide and hung up.Although now im regretting that. 3rd day i gave him flea drops we got from petco but i can still see live ones today.

Not to mention his eyes have watery discharge and his nose.At first i thought it was from the car ride it being cold out, when i asked her about it she said its normal for his breed.
Im not sure if shes lying or not.
Do i take him back and demand our money back for purchasing a sick flea infested cat, or spend the $ to get him fixed, wich will be up to another 100.00??
Im totally stuck, and since its been almost 6 days would she even take him back, and give me my $ back?

    Help

Well I do know that mite medication is fairly cheap. Just as long as they use the same stuff for kittens as they do adults but even then Im sure it wouldnt be expensive. When my cat has gotten mites (twice in 2 years) the medication from the vet was only $10....and it doesnt even require a viset from the cat. Im not sure about the watery eyes....my cat also had that same condition last year. His eyes watered and were swollen.....I did take him to the vet that time and he got an ointment that I recall was also not very expensive. Be careful what flea repelant you use, as he is a kitten and it could be toxic to him...(im sure you knew that, but just in case;)).
Personally, I would keep him and take care of him seeing as the person who had him before was not doing a good job and it seems he was badly neglected. I couldnt bring a kitten back to that sort of enviorment.....not a guilt trip I swear:)......thats just how I feel about it. But I would also demand that she foot the vet bill since infact, she did sell you a kitten that should have been in good health and she didnt. Also I would report her (I dont know if you can do that) but she doesnt sound as if she is taking care of these kittys she has....it could be an isolated thing with your cat........ I dont think it will be mighty expensive for you.....I wish you and all your kittys health and happiness.......let us know how it goes!

i just spoke with my vet yest and i was right..ahhhh
We have to take him in this morning.
I cant beleive my luck lately, so now i have to contact her and see if her vet can send copies of his shots to my vet since she claimed she lost his papers. She probably wont even answer. even my vet said we got scammed, i dont feel right about putting this poor kitten back into a home that could care less about his wellbeing! God i hate people like this!!
Plus i have to get frontline for all of my other cats and steam my carpet, bomb our house,
and my dog........ahhhhh he will need stuff too.
My vet told me i would need frontline for all 5 of my cats including her, and our dog. so thats 55 bucks right there, its 11.00 a tube, plus ear mite solution for all 5 cats, becuase now that theyve been playing he said theyll have it all too, plus his antibiotics for upper respitory cold, and a 35.00 office visit cost.

My hubbys so mad hes calling her today and demanding half our money back, we are also going to report her to animal wellness place my vet said its worth a try, and than in the future she wont be able to do this again!

I'm sorry to hear you'll have to shell out so much money:(
But glad to hear that you'll be keeping the kitten (and reporting that lady)
    Shit happens, eh?

In any case, I wish you luck with your animal babies....happy holidays!
