I was a fresh arrival in the Haight in the spring of 1969, and attended a march downtown on the Presidio, in protest of the war, and the sentences handed out to the 'Presidio 27'. Was anyone else on here at that event? (at the time, I was AWOL from the US Navy). After the march, everyone gathered for some speeches by a few of the organizers. I don't remember the names of the people who spoke, but I do remember one guy from the Black Panthers who really tried to get the crowd worked upagainst the pigs, and "whitey", and eventually most everyone just started yelling out "PEACE, PEACE", and flashing the sign. I can't find any old news stories or pictures of that event. Anyone know of any????? ANYONE???????
