I don't know much about farming but did you ever try to grow something? There's always something looking to eat it or mold, hail, wind or drought or some other thing never even thought of. I can see legitimate reason to subsidize legitimate need because there are legitimate catastrophic risks. Food subsidies benefit consumers by lowering their prices.

I don't think the price of milk will go up. Otherwise only half as much will sell, and the dairy industry will get stuck with millions of gallons. The farmers can't just tell the cows not to produce.
$7-8 a gallon is about what we pay for milk in Canada. What really pisses me off though, is how fucking cheap your chicken McNuggets are.

I don't know about that. Went to the store today and there was not a gallon of milk to be had. All that was left was milk no one wanted.It was like something you would see pre or post disaster. Guess people got scared and got milk just in case.
Its Fiscal Cliff cos GFC got old and they knew GFC III wasnt going to have an impact. But it does just seem to be US and EU, the rest of us dont care
