Looking for an episode of Thriller or HItchcock Presents

Hi, I hope someone here can help me track down an episode of either Thriller or Alfred Hitchcock Presents. This is one I saw as a child but have never been able to find since then.

The plot centers around a man coming to a farm, I think, and he falls in love with the farmer's wife or daughter, and she with him. They make plans to run away together.

SPOILER: The end of the story comes when he comes to get her, but he finds the farmer and the young woman sitting on a trunk. She tells him she is not going away with him The man goes away. The camera then shows the farmer and the young woman from behind. There is a knife in her back. We pan down to the trunk and on it is the stage name the farmer used to use and that he was a ventriloquist.

I have never forgotten this TV tale but despite lots of looking on the internet and in TV books, I haven't been able to find it. Does anyone know the title or a link to it?

 

Welcome to the forum , you might check on you tube . This could of been on several different shows , I barly remember the Hitchcock t.v. show , but dont really remember any shows . desert rat

 

I'm pretty sure that's an episode of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour called Final Performance. I think it's on Hulu.

 

Sun, thanks, that's it! I went to Hulu but it seems it has been pulled. And tried other sources and no go. Oh, well, at least, that mystery has finally been cleared up. Thanks very much!
