So I live in a small apartment that I share with another dude. He is totally hot on this guy who loves Christmas so we got like three tree's this year. Only now we got no space in our place lol. So I took down the smaller of the tree's and now we been getting some weird happenings like a picture fell of the wall near where the tree was and some weird loud bangs and noises and it getting freaky cold.

So my question is... is it bad luck to take down your tree's before the actual end of christmas? I called my sister who says that you should take down christmas between 5am on January 5 and 5am on January 6, is this true? and what bad will result?

Yes it is bad luck. I did that a couple decades back and my living room floor ended up in the basement.

I always heard that it should be out no later than New Year's Day or it was bad luck.

twelfth night (5th january) is when you are supposed to take them down. people used to believe that tree spirits lived in holly and christmas trees and would get up to mischief if you left these hanging around after twelfth night.

although some people used to leave em up until candlemas on the 2nd feb. which is when you should take down a nativity scene.

maybe it is bad luck. considering the number of trees you see on the curb if you drive through town on christmas afternoon, this could explain the current state of the economy.

Oh shitt, well we took them all done on Jan 2 so I guess were screwed! The dude I live with had this dude over and needed space for the party so they took all them down even though I said not to. Since then I got sick and the dude I live with got sick too and we have both lost our cell phones. I heard this could be the ghost of christmas. How long is the bad luck for, the whole year?

it only lasts until you stop hanging around other sick people and you stop getting drunk when you have your phone with you.
